On Tuesday, December 3, Jupiter will exit the sign of Sagittarius and ingress the sign of Capricorn.
Astrology sessions last week reminded me that the Saturn/Pluto conjunction was approaching, exact on January 12, 2020. I shuffled my deck to see what messages these planets would reveal to us earthlings below; the cards I pulled were Five of Crystals (Negativity) and Sage of Wands (Seer).
Planets enter the cardinal sign of Libra this week (Mercury and Venus to start), which means anxiety influenced by a dominance of mutable energy above will now be substituted for assertive action. We can finally pick a direction, and do so with cardinal conviction.
This week brings an Earth Element Event. We currently have seven planets transiting the Earth signs of Taurus (1), Capricorn (2) and Virgo (4), all to be capped by a New Moon in the sign of Virgo on Friday, August 30.
With Mercury picking up speed in the sign of Pisces after a watered down retrograde, Aries season can officially get underway, initiating a spring do-over as we approach the Aries New Moon.
Events that transpired last week have inspired a rather dense reflection on life. I am more aware than ever before of the things that are out of my control. I am also more starkly aware that life changes in an instant. I am sure you, dear reader, can relate. So many people end up in places they never thought they’d be, while so many others attempt to manipulate life so that it works in their favor.
Change is inevitable, assumed in your Soul’s contract.
Our cosmic taskmaster wakes up this week. Saturn, the ringed planet, will station direct on Thursday, September 6th, reminding us of important Karmic lessons that remain unresolved.
“Maybe that’s enlightenment enough: to know that there is no final resting place of the mind; no moment of smug clarity. Perhaps wisdom ... is realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how far I have yet to go.” ~Anthony Bourdain
These words spoken by Anthony Bourdain may be difficult to swallow. It may not be easy to accept this as truth, humbling ourselves enough to let it fully sink in. These words are just another reminder of why Anthony Bourdain was once compared to an “open vein.” He was raw, pulsing with a passion and vulnerability not at all hidden or covered up. He very intentionally exposed what lied beneath the surface of certain pleasantries, be it decadent food, or in worldly pursuits. I was devastated by the news of his death. He will surely be missed.
"To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his God.” ~Thomas Macaulay “Horatius”
The first few months of 2018 have brought quite the shift. This has been a dense year, one that has seen us more committed to change. I’m not sure about you, but I continue to observe the weightiness of my life. Time has become my most valuable resource, which is why I intend to use it wisely, and for a greater good.
A super, blue, full moon, lunar eclipse, peaks in the sign of Leo this Wednesday. It is a super moon because it will be at perigee, i.e., closest to the Earth, and a blue moon because it will be the second full moon this month – the first full moon fell on New Year’s Day. How timely and appropriate that a full moon will close out the month of January, a month that set-in motion what we can expect in the year ahead.
