But self-care is not the answer to a healthy lifestyle. Self-care alone is not enough to sustain you, keep you in flow, or bring you peace. Self-care does not ensure that you will operate at your highest self – the God/Goddess within each of you. Self-care can never be a substitute for self-love; yes, there is a difference.
If physical exercise is considered self-care, healthy eating, regular check-ups, and wellness as a priority would be considered self-love.
If talking to a therapist is considered self-care, changing your self-talk when you are alone would be considered self-love.
If finding time to meditate is considered self-care, a mindful approach to how you respond to everyday life events would be considered self-love.
If taking a cleansing salt bath is considered self-care, cultivating a spiritual practice that serves as an anchor and foundation for your well-being would be considered self-love.
Simple acts of self-care won’t cut it. Self-care is a way of life. Self-care is steeped in self-love.
A Super (Full) Moon peaks in the physical Earth sign of Virgo on Monday, opposed the mighty Sun in the ethereal Water sign of Pisces. Energy this week will focus on these two polar forces, begging the need to bridge a gap between care (Virgo) and love (Pisces).
You can’t have one without the other. How you care for yourself is a measure of your love for self. If you are all care and no love, you are getting it wrong. If you claim to be all love without care, then you are a fraud.
Let this lunation be a reminder that you deserve your care, and, that the person most deserving of your love is you. Bridge the gap.
