I lost a paying client for the first time recently, and I’m pretty sure it had something to do with me calling him crazy and paranoid…oh, and a victim. This man sent me numerous email rants expressing his disdain for women, I assume due to his own unpleasant experiences. When he referred to us as “beasts” in yet another message, I decided to respond with full-length paragraphs. It was clear that he did not like what I had to say; he replied stating that he would “pass” on his reading. He said that he did not want my “disempowering viewpoints” creeping into his life, and then told me that I could “keep the funds.” Well, I did not want his anti-women-tainted money sitting in my PayPal account, so I returned his payment with blessings.
Some of the hang-ups we harbor go really deep. So much so that often we’re not at all hip to how they prevent us from moving past self imposed barriers and sabotaging. It’s scary to think that something so ingrained (like this country’s culture of racism) could have such ramifications of our own doing. But our hang-ups are real whether we’re aware of them or not, and while it is difficult to see the ugly truth of our shadows, I’m sure you would agree that they’re worthy of an honest look. The acknowledgement of how and why certain wounds cut deep is the only way to interrupt a story that plays on loop – I’m not deserving of love and abundance; I will never succeed; All women are out to hurt me. We need to fully understand what’s really going on if we hope to change the story's ending.
On Sunday, September 27th, around 10:47p.m. EST, the Earth was in direct alignment between the Sun and a Full Moon, and a Total Lunar Eclipse was visible in North America. The sunlight refracted from the Earth’s shadow gave the Full Moon an orange hue, which was why this moon was being called a “Blood Moon.” Because the moon was perigee, i.e., closest to the Earth, it appeared very large taking on the appearance of what’s called a “Supermoon.” Furthermore, this Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse was the fourth to occur in the span of two years – a rare phenomenon called a tetrad that we haven’t seen in the last 33 years.
It was not at all surprising that this event sparked biblical reference to the “End of Days.” Transformation seemed to be the theme, and I know plenty of people currently laboring through their own rebirth, including myself. The fact that this was a Harvest Full Moon, which always occurs around the Autumn Equinox, ensures we will soon reap what we sow. But first, we must plow the land to plant the seed; you could say that Sunday's eclipse was the plow.
A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse brings a permanent ending. As this energy unfolds in the fiery aggressive sign of Aries the Ram, what “dies” will die hard and fast and furious. There will be other planets that agitate this moon in the coming days – namely Pluto with its energy forcing us to go there and investigate all that’s hidden, while Uranus incites us to rebel against the status quo. If there ever was a time to fight for your life, this is it. Keep in mind, however, that this battle is an internal one, as the Moon represents all that stirs beneath the surface. Inner conflict, emotional turmoil, and the same ol’ stories we tell will need to be eclipsed from our lives for good – our very own existence and renewal depends on it. Eclipse energy can last for up to six months. You can expect to see a significant shift by spring of next year after the long winter season, and winter is coming.
