Cancer in 2023

1/1/2023

A gradual build-up of energy begins right at the start of the year as the planet Mars stations direct in the sign of Gemini on January 13, where it has been retrograde since October 2022.

All the planets in our solar system do what’s called, “retrograde,” with Mercury being the planet that retrogrades most frequently throughout the calendar year. A retrograde planet gives the optical illusion of orbiting the almighty Sun backwards, which can be symbolized as a nudge from the Universe to pause and reroute where necessary, based on where the planet is affecting us in our natal charts.

Now, Mars in Astrology connects us to how we initiate our deepest passions. But while retrograde, assertive efforts feel blocked. Such blocks and thwarted motivation can be frustrating for us down below. So, as the Warrior planet gets back to its regular pace and orbit, you can anticipate that the affairs of life will amplify, a momentum that continues through the spring and summer seasons.

Inner dialogues, sleepless nights, internalized anxiety, and other activities behind the scenes will begin to find clarity, Cancer. Perspective can be found. Depression can now be overcome. Solitude that brings focus will soon be available. If navigating a health matter, you’ll soon be on the mend.

This is especially true as it relates to important partners and significant others; Mercury will also station direct in the sign of Capricorn on January 19, where it has been retrograde since December 2022 bringing hiccups on the relationship front.

In fact, all relationships are highlighted throughout the months of January and February (close friends, family and relatives, spouse, romantic or business partner, etc.). If you are working through grief, difficult emotions, or moving forward as it relates to close ties and connections (one way or the other) the direct stations of Mercury and Mars may very well be connected.

This could also impact certain commitments and contract agreements if dissolving a business, experiencing increased intimacy, or merging in a union. Interestingly, by the time we enter the spring months, energy connected to such intimate matters will undergo a major shift as two momentous cosmic events develop above: Saturn will ingress (enter) the sign of Pisces on March 8, and Pluto will ingress the sign of Aquarius on March 24.

Both these planetary shifts are set to bring important lessons to humanity below, especially in the way of social unrest, spiritual growth, and revolutionary coups. For you, Cancer, all entanglements may be transformed, restructured, or discarded entirely, and what follows will inspire you to venture into new territory broadening your own personal beliefs and philosophies. Whether ending a career contract to go back to school, or selling your property to travel the world, you will be unmooring yourself from ongoing investments that keep you from soaring high and reaching for the stars.

Spring will be the time to direct your energy in both assertive and entrepreneurial ways. You will feel quite driven and determined as Mars continues to move in forward motion, waking you from a fog. Opportunities during this first quarter or 2023 may beg the need for you to get clear on your overall direction in life. This will be amplified on April 20 when a solar eclipse peaks, inviting you to consider a new vocational path and legacy as you pursue professional goals that give you meaning and purpose.

However, Mercury will station retrograde again the day after the eclipse on April 21, which brings delays around new career chapters. This is especially true if launching a business that requires you to network, or moving through an intensive interview process that sees you connecting with potential colleagues. It will feel like you’re taking two steps forward and two steps back as you consider your options. But these things will resolve when the Messenger planet stations direct on May 15, and most likely in your favor.

The lunar eclipse peaks on May 5, meanwhile, wrapping up activities centering children and creative aims. You may be launching an artistic collaboration that leads to professional success, going back to work after some time as a stay-at-home parent, or leaving behind an education setting to embark upon a different vocational path.

Of course, with Mercury retrograde, there will still be delays. But as Jupiter shifts into the sign of Taurus on May 17, you may be joining with others who support these new chapter beginnings. Networking and social engagements will follow as you begin to align with like minds and shared causes that further both personal and professional aims.

In the meantime, a surge of energy continues as we reach the summer solstice and your birthday season! This year is fast and furious! Personal goals, financial dealings, learning curves and short trips feature.

That said, the close of July sees Venus stationing retrograde on the 23rd, bringing a financial assessment or property negotiation. A salary adjustment, asset division review, or a need to simply self-advocate for your worth and value are just a few examples of how Venus – the planet that connects us to love, beauty, money, and personal aesthetics – will be of impact while retrograde.

This gets a little dicey as Mercury stations retrograde once more just a month later on August 24. At this point of the year, education, correspondence, and communication feature. You (or even a child) may be under consideration for a scholarship to an academic program, or you may enter talks/discussions around real-estate investments with loved ones. These things will undergo delay courtesy of Venus and Mercury retrograde.

Such matters will resolve in September when Venus stations direct on the 4th and Mercury stations direct on the 16th. A home settlement, for example, will be completed. An online store can now be launched. What may feel like a suspenseful holding pattern finally lifts!

October sees two more eclipses, meanwhile. A solar event on the 14th brings a new start on the home and family fronts, and the lunar eclipse on the 28th wraps up activities within a certain group or affiliation. FYI, these eclipses are connected to the spring pair of eclipses. You may be saying goodbye to certain connections and/or professional associates if relocating.

As the groups and organizations where you are aligned undergo a period of closure, you will be planting seeds that serve as your anchor when it come to your physical space and emotional home. Remember, much of 2023 sees you aligning with right tribe and community – those who support your evolution. What’s more, as we close out the year, the pace of life will expand with creative projects, time centering children, love, affection, and of course, busy days as we enter the holidays!

November through December sees a surge of energy building as it relates to fun and daily affairs – you may thoroughly enjoy this time of year, Cancer. That said, Mercury retrogrades one last time on December 13, which could derail your plans and interrupt your regular routines. But not to worry – these matters will resolve in the new year. Aside from Mercury’s backward spin, Cancer, 2023 ends on a rather hopeful note!

Cancer in 2022

Events from 2021 linger into 2022, which means the clean slate and fresh start we’ll all be looking for in the new year may be weighted down or even delayed. You can blame the planet Venus, which has been retrograde since December 19, 2021. Venus will remain retrograde throughout the entire month of January, joined by Mercury retrograde, too.

This energy, along with the Sun and Pluto’s placements in the sign of Capricorn, will affect you on the relationship front, dear Cancer. All “important others” feature – spouse, romantic partner, business partner, close friend, relative, etc. This even includes the relationship you have with yourself. You may be redefining, reassessing, reconsidering, and re-examining your closest ties, an evaluation that carries you into the first few weeks of the new year. Clarity will not be restored until February, which is when the real start to the new year begins. You will have to be patient.

A cosmic turning point will also contribute to questions of what and who you value with regards to those groups, organizations, and friendships in which you’re affiliated, as well as your own authentic being – i.e., how you are able to be yourself and cultivate more joy. If there are people, patterns, or certain settings that inhibit you from finding your tribe and cultivating those gifts that make you special and unique, these things, too, will require your consideration.

Overall, dear Crab, major themes in 2022 center how you value yourself. Questions for reflection include: Am I living my life to the fullest? What/who contributes to my happiness? How can I join with others who share the same values as me, and not at the expense of what makes me stand out? When you can answer these questions, you may find your path in life is rerouted as the Universe puts you on a path that better reflect the truth of who you are.

Once we reach the end of February, a few answers may very well come to light as the pace of life picks up. In fact, Jupiter’s transit through the sign of Pisces most of the year will inspire you to consider all that’s possible as you take a few leaps of faith that broaden you and bring purpose. Give yourself permission to indulge any new curiosities, Cancer. Uncharted territories that offer you meaning, feature.

By spring, you’ll be back to those regularly scheduled programs. Career matters will be of focus while increased networking and social engagements are highlighted. This all coincides with a pair of eclipses set to arrive late April into May. The solar event on April 30th initiates a new chapter around your sense of belonging, and the lunar event on May 16th marks the end of an important phase of growth centering children, authentic living, and even a love affair.

A romantic attachment may become platonic during this time. A child may be entering a new academic institution, or a creative project is launched and promoted by a network of your peers. These are examples of how the eclipses will feed each other, with emphasis on themes that center standing out and fitting in.

As this energy unfolds, there may be a few delays and setbacks courtesy of another retrograde station of Mercury. Your start date within a new institution or organization may be pushed back. This could also look like “blurred lines” with an associate. No matter how this energy unfolds, your allegiances will change or be renewed. Stay patient as activities develop.

Before summer begins, you may feel the need to rest and retreat. In fact, this will be a growing necessity as move through the rest of your year. Other life events will require your attention, however. So, balance between movement and solitude will be necessary.

Your birthday season looks to be quite lively, meanwhile, as money matters, short trips, and home/family affairs pick up late summer/early fall. You will also notice career opportunities expand in ways you hadn’t anticipated. Jupiter’s short stint through the sign of Aries mid-year could bring professional advancement. This would be an opportune time to pursue vocational goals and ambitions.

As we enter the fall season, financial dealings, “back-to-school” activities, and other daily affairs will have calmed. But domestic delays are possible mid-September through the first week of October that involve children, relatives, home renovations, or even relocation. Mercury retrograde is the culprit, again, so be careful not to strongarm your way through challenges that arise. If there are delays around domestic changes (someone moving in or out), a property settlement, or family vacations, be patient.

Mercury’s direct station in October precedes another eclipse season. A solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse peak on October 25th and November 8th, respectively, triggering themes that have been prevalent throughout the year that involve joy, child’s play, and how you get along with others.

The solar event could bring a news of pregnancy, or the start of new love affair. The lunar event, meanwhile, brings conclusion to your involvement in a group or affiliation. Whether leaving a job to go on maternity leave or turning a friendship into something more, expect a few plot twists and turns.

Events around eclipses will amplify once the planet Mars stations retrograde. Of all the planets, Mars can be the hardest to navigate while retrograde. Its energy connects us to our force of will, so when it does a backward spin around the sun, our energy feels blocked.

For you, dear Crab, this retrograde will impact you behind the scenes. A significant turn inward, similar to what you experienced before your birthday, will bring greater moments or rest and solitude that may be intentional, or due to circumstances beyond your control.

If you are welcoming a child, for example, you may be put on bed rest to ensure the health of you and your baby. Same is true if you are recovering from a surgical procedure, leaving full-time employment, or dealing with difficult emotions.

FYI, this shift will last through January 2023, and while life will, indeed, be busy moving into the holiday season, you will have to tend to more internal demands as we close out the year.

But all is not lost, Cancer. The close of the year also sees greater love, affection, busy days, and tender moments with loved ones. You will be surrounded by ties and connections that support you in every way, which will keep you buoyant during the holidays.

Consider this a time, then, to balance rest with movement, and be gentle with ‘self’ and others. 2022 will be a mix of explosive highs and manageable lows that comes with all the fixings that make life grand.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CANCER!

Cancer in 2021

1/1/2021

This was a watershed year, indeed, dear Crab. As the nurturer of the Zodiac, I don’t doubt you felt the weight of the world, overwhelmed by the emotional needs of others. You are the one always providing extra love and care to all those who suffer. You may have been pulled in so many directions by so many people throughout all of 2020.

Your caretaking powers precede you, Cancer. You’re notorious for giving of yourself at the expense of your own needs. That’s why 2021 brings important lessons around commitments and investments. You are learning be more disciplined with where you exert your resources (time, love, energy, expertise, money, and anything else of value to you) as greater demands are put on you in the new year.

These new lessons begin right at the start with agreements, mergers, and obligations to others taking up more time and energy. February might bring a few hiccups, FYI. If negotiating a contract or signing a partnership agreement, you can expect delays and setbacks. Same is true if merging in a business arrangement or committing in a relationship – misunderstandings and miscommunications won’t be settled until spring.

The more intentional you are with rationing your resources, Cancer, the more resources you’ll have to invest in the people and things you value most. So be deliberate choosing where and with whom you expend your energy. In the process, you’ll have more time to focus on and make progress around your own set of priorities.

As we enter the spring season, career matters and networking will amplify putting you contact with like-minded folks who can support both personal and professional causes. Whether attending virtual conferences or joining a new tribe and community, changing dynamics within new and existing social circles are likely.

This will influence eclipses that peak on May 26th and June 10th. Aspects of your daily life will reach conclusion as you turn more inward for reflection and personal assessments. This may see you offloading important work projects or overcoming a health matter. In the process, you will create more space for healing and solitude in your day. What’s more, helpful aids will be available to assist you with your needs, so be open to receiving their support.

As you prioritize inner enhancement, you may be contemplating a big decision at this time. Whether you decide to leave a job entirely or consider future goals, the month of June may feel a bit foggy as you attempt to find clarity. Try not to rush this process. Give yourself permission to lie low. Be intentional with personal decisions once this fog lifts.

The summer months, meanwhile, should be fun for us all as cases of COVID-19 steadily decline. A vaccine will make it possible for us to connect and travel, and just in time for your birthday! This will be a growing influence as we enter the fall. At that point, home and family matters will begin to dominate. You may be spending more time with loved ones, focused on family planning or undergoing domestic change.

That said, another round of delays is highlighted, this time on the home and family fronts beginning end of September into October. Family planning may need to be put on hold while domestic change brings disruption – someone may be moving in or renovations take longer than anticipated. Try to be patient as things develop. November brings forward momentum in time for the holiday season!

The end of year period also brings a final pair of eclipses on November 19th and December 4th. Busy days are highlighted if taking on a new role or on the receiving end of a good bill of health. You may be leaving behind a group or company to focus on lifestyle changes, especially if going on maternity leave or launching your own business.

The chapters set to begin around this eclipse season will initiate a theme of wanderlust. Having adjusted priorities and re-strategized commitments, you can now focus on dreams for the future.
Your plans may conflict with relationship responsibilities, however, by the close of 2021 into 2022. Important connections may need to be factored into change you wish to set in motion. This will be an exercise that centers who and what you value; all will be made clear in the new year.

No matter how this minor cliffhanger unfolds, you’ve got permission to dream big without constraints. So go ahead, Cancer – dream it!

Happy New Year, Cancer!

The new year feels like a fresh start for many. But others are still suffering the impact of COVID-19 as a food shortage continues to affect millions of Americans.

Cancer in 2020

1/1/2020

For years, you have been learning how to walk that fine line between advocating for your own needs and being available to close loved ones. You are a giver, Cancer. You get it honestly. The year ahead, however, still begs the need for you to find a balance between “self” and “other.”

The new year begins in 2019 with a solar eclipse that peaked in your relationship sign (Capricorn) on December 26th. This lunation, paired with other cosmic events, brings opportunities for enhancement in all important connections. You’re still doing the work of relating. But this time, you will begin to see the fruits of all your efforts.

In fact, the winter months may inspire love and affection, especially if you are taking a trip with a spouse or partnering with close connections in a group training or certification. The more you can include others in your plans, the greater your success. Do not let glitches and delays during this time interrupt inspired moments of love and togetherness. Give yourself permission to explore; bonus if you have a travel buddy.

The spring months, meanwhile, see you turning your attention toward your career (FYI, developments now may be revisited during the fall). If you are networking for employment, or aligning yourself in a new company setting, energy here will bring support. In fact, a theme in effect all year will encourage you to branch out and meet new people. Doing so could bring new friendships and/or professional advancement.

It’s business as usual the first few months of 2020 until we reach the end of May. By then, you will begin to feel low on energy and out of sorts; a “sleepy period” will peak bringing an extended review or assessment.

You may be contemplating personal changes at this time, uncertain of how best to plan your course of action. This is especially true if it involves a significant other; you may not know whether or not such a personal decision will be supported.

Eclipses further add to confusion, with three peaking in the summer instead of the standard two. Lunar eclipses on June 5th and July 5th bring a shift or completion in an important relationship, while a potent solar eclipse nestled in between right at summer solstice on June 21st brings a personal new beginning for you.

What you are considering at this time may beg the need for you to forego a partnership that disrupts your ability to productively pursue your own goals. Whether you are dissolving a business venture or romantic affair, you are aware of the need to invest in your own agenda.

There may be some confusion or back and forth with your plans, however, starting in June through July. The greenlight to act may be delayed. Furthermore, you will continue to assess things behind the scenes as you navigate uncertainties, so give yourself time and space to reflect on the best path forward.

By the end of July/early August, the dust will settle, and you will know where you stand. The end of summer sees you firm in an important decision, asserting your own will, and hopefully with important relationships still intact.

As you get your bearings entering September, another round of tumultuous cosmic weather begins on the career front. This is activity that will bring grave delays, so consider yourself warned.

If you are applying for a new job, a hiring freeze may prolong consideration of your candidacy. Same is true if you are working on a grant with funding that runs out; it may take some time for funding to be restored, pausing your efforts toward an important project.

These delays will last through November bringing great frustrations. October will further complicate these blocks as minor setbacks at home and with family develop. If you are relocating for work, for example, you may find that you can’t identify a place to live until work obstacles resolve. If you work in real estate, a housing crisis might make commissions hard to secure.

October may very well be the most challenging month of 2020, so be sure to exercise patience. You will have two options on how best to navigate certain restrictions: Lean back and wait or find a working solution in the interim. Important relationships will be impacted here, and personal stress may be felt too.

November brings a shift as obstacles on the work and home fronts begin to gradually move forward. Momentum will return in both areas as we close out the year.

Meanwhile, 2020 ends with another round of eclipses. A lunar eclipse brings the release of an important fear or anxiety on November 30th, while the solar eclipse on December 14th comes with a new start to your day-to-day.

What is revealed during the lunar eclipse may very well be linked to what was being assessed throughout May and June. You may find that you do have to relieve yourself of inner doubts in order to prepare for a new start coming courtesy of the solar eclipse, especially if this is a new job now that career obstacles are moving forward.

The most important relationship we have, dear Cancer, is the relationship with ourselves. 2020 sees you learning how to love yourself a little more, trust yourself a little more, and invest in yourself a little more so that you can take advantage of new opportunities.

Commitments come with weight in 2021, whether you are committing to a new entrepreneurial venture, a new partnership, or committing to yourself. Let 2020 be the year when you begin to balance the give and take in relationships, so that you have enough energy to invest in you.

Happy New Year, Cancer!

Cancer in 2019

You will continue to navigate the minutiae of relationships in 2019, Cancer. All important others feature under this influence – family, close friends, romantic partners, etc. Over the years, many relationships have changed, evolved, or ended entirely. As you take stock of the people in your life who enhance your life, be sure to consider your impact in relationships as well.

The beginning of the year sees this exercise unfolding, as a solar eclipse on January 5th brings a potent new beginning in an important new relationship. This will be an experience that changes you, especially since the lunar eclipse two week later on July 21st sees something of personal value being released (money, possessions, time, etc.) so that you can commit fully in partnership with others. This may feel rather dense at first, but the load will lighten, and you stand to benefit in the long run.

In fact, the spring months bring inspiration. Higher learning, travel, international pursuits and vocational training will give you something to look forward to! Many Cancers may embark on a trip abroad, while others begin enrollment in a higher education institution. You may experience a few delays around these endeavors throughout the month of March while Mercury is retrograde. Missing travel documents, publishing edits as well as enrollment changes could lead you to feel discouraged. Inspiration and momentum will be restored by April, so try not to lose faith.

The rest of spring sees you shifting your focus to networking, social engagements, and other group events. This will trigger a theme that began during the spring of last year, encouraging you to branch out and meet new people. Freedom to connect with others and build new contacts will generate some restlessness on your part. But you will be deliberate in your efforts, choosing carefully those people and associations with which you wish to align.

As we enter the summer, two eclipse bring big change! A solar eclipse in your sign on July 2nd begins a personal chapter beginning, while the lunar eclipse on July 21st sees a completion of activity on the relationship front. This will trigger events that unfolded at the beginning of the year; your involvement in a partnership may need to shift or end entirely so that you can focus on personal aims. Mid-July through August could see you going back and forth with uncertainty as you consider relationships that are of value to you. Clarity will be revealed by September.

The fall season, meanwhile, will be ripe with developments. Money matters, education and learning as well as home and family affairs dominate your time. This will keep you busy – a theme that is in effect throughout all of 2019. With busier days, be careful not to put too much on your plate and pay attention to health and wellness.

As we close out the year, fun and recreation will be a new focus; let’s face it, you deserve it Cancer! Activities involving children, new romance, as well as creative ventures will bring more joy and play. There may be a few glitches around these endeavors in November – misunderstandings with children, romantic setbacks, or delays around an artistic launch are possible. Try not to get too overwhelmed if things do not go as planned. All will be resolved by December.

A parting gift to 2019 will appear in the form of another solar eclipse the day after Christmas. This, coinciding with the transit of Jupiter through Capricorn, marks another new relationship beginning – one that will be smoother, healthier and leads to firmer commitments. An enhancement will be in effect with important partners. Greater connection is possible, as well as benefits through others.

Happy New Year, Cancer!

Cancer in 2018

The past few years have brought challenges to your lifestyle, Cancer. Many of you have had to contend with difficult work schedules, health matters, and limitations regarding your quality of life. You have had to be more disciplined as a result, especially with fitness and exercise, and hopefully you have learned some important lessons. The next set of challenges involve significant others – all the significant people in your life feature. You must now get serious about your connections, and manage them accordingly. Strong relationships will endure; unhealthy ones may fade.

The year begins with emphasis on partnership. This may be a time of weeding out, and getting clear of your intentions with others. The reverse is true too; others may be letting you know where they stand. This energy will continue to unfold during eclipse season in February, where new commitments can be forged. Many Cancers may be saying “I do,” or taking out a mortgage with a spouse. Be mindful of investments made; you may have to sacrifice much of your own personal resources to invest.

The spring months are active as well, especially when it comes to your career. Mercury retrograde may bring some delays mid-March to mid-April, so try to hold off on any big professional decisions (you may have no choice but to wait). The month of May brings another important shift, as the planet Uranus ingresses the sign of Taurus. This could see you meeting all sorts of new people from different walks of life, networks, and affiliations. Your social status and friendship circle is about to change. This is especially true if you find yourself in a new work environment.

The summer months, meanwhile, come with choppy cosmic weather, as three eclipses (not just your regular two) rock our world. The pressure begins to build right at solstice; you seem to be simultaneously asserting yourself in an important commitment, merger, or contractual agreement, while coming up against severe obstacles. It may be difficult for you to assert yourself, and this will feel frustrating.

The Aquarius lunar eclipse in July might force you to find another way, but a Solar Eclipse in your sign this same month offers added drive and determination. You’ve got this, Cancer. Just keep being your tenacious self. A third and final eclipse in August sees reinforcements entering at the right time with the resources needed for success. You may have to re-strategize your plan, but it will work to your benefit with progress being made as we enter the month of September.

Momentum caries you through the fall. After some minor setbacks regarding money and finances, life will move forward on all fronts. 2018 wanes with increasing activity around romance, fun, children, and recreation. There is already a significant influence unfolding in this area all year, which has been the case since the end of 2017! A concentration of energy builds, and a review is in order if navigating a new love affair, pregnancy, or a creative venture. This is fertile energy that is meant to be indulged.

We close out the year with another big planetary shift – Jupiter will enter the sign of Sagittarius. This is important news; Jupiter rules the sign of Sagittarius in astrology! What this means for you is greater expansion in your day-to-day with activities that you will likely enjoy. Health, wellness, and added chores will fill your schedule, whether changing careers, or gearing up for family planning. Health matters may hit a glitch or two in December, so pay attention to any ailments that arise. You end the year on a pretty busy note, one that sees you hitting the ground running in 2019!

Happy New Year, Cancer!

Cancer in 2017

1/1/2017

Aside from the Full Moon in your sign this month, and a New Moon in your sign around your birthday, your year ahead seems mostly unaffected by important planetary transits. Of course, you will continue to navigate changing work demands, relationship transformation, and lessons on how to be more disciplined when it comes to your time, schedule, general health, and well-being. But other than these few activities (which are enough!), it might be worth looking at 2017 as a year to focus on manifesting your life’s vision and future.

The year begins with a lot of back and forth between you and a significant other (be it business or personal). There may be a few misunderstandings, especially around which of you was supposed to take care of certain responsibilities. You may also be negotiating a contract with a client or employer, which could bring delays. Try not to assert yourself if obstacles arise, Cancer (you can be as pushy as an Aries!). By February, partnership matters will be resolved.

Meanwhile, February comes with two eclipses that could usher in a new chapter beginning. If you are seeking reward or compensation for a service, vying for a promotion or salary increase, or simply finalizing the purchase of an important piece of property, activities will soon reach completion courtesy of the lunar eclipse on February 10th. Travel is also highlighted this month – a Solar Eclipse on February 27th brings a new start in all international dealings, as well as opportunities that allow you to expand your worldview, education level, and vocational training. Money received may come in handy, providing the support that you need. This activity will extend through the summer months, with a possible increase around financial and personal security. If you are taking out a loan, or simply paying off debt, you may find that you have more resources available to invest in the things that you value.

March and April will bring increased activity on the career front. You seem to be undergoing a review of sorts with a potential employer or business investor. March sees you redeveloping your resume and portfolio, or simply re-evaluating professional goals, while April brings talks and discussions around advancement on the job front. Keep in mind, however, that while you may be on the receiving end of new opportunities, delays will occur. Decisions might have to be put off until May or June of this year, so be patient and try not to force an outcome.

The fall months are pretty low key, apart from a few short trips and increased engagements with others that could bring delays. October, however, will be a month when life runs more smoothly, and you can begin to focus on children, recreation, and all forms of creativity that uplift you. Pregnancy is possible now through 2018, while authentic living and pleasurable pursuits will be strongly emphasized.

The end of the year marks an important turning point that brings partnerships into sharper focus. Many Cancers will begin a new cycle with significant others that will feel somewhat challenging. Strong relationships will grow even stronger, while those relationships that feel unsettling may dissolve in 2018. The lesson in all this will be to invest in those whom you value; it takes two willing participants to make a partnership last.

Happy New Year, Cancer!

Cancer in 2016

Life has been a mixed bag over the past year, Cancer. For starters, relationship activity was rather intense, to say the least. Also, you were severely challenged on the career front. Finally, the stress of managing daily affairs left you depleted on more than one occasion. Just so you know, these themes continue into 2016. However this year, you will be more equipped to manage the heightened energy, while demanding reward for your efforts.

2016 will see many Cancers become fierce god/goddess warriors. As a sign that is known to tiptoe through life, side stepping obstacles and confrontation, this year will insist that you debunk such stereotypes – and you will! Your first challenge stems around important relationships in January, whether romantic or professional. There may be a few partnership hiccups and misunderstandings, so be sure to stand your ground. All will be resolved by February.

Meanwhile, March eclipses will move you closer to important life goals this year, as your desires for foreign expansion, and the ability to explore beyond the proverbial box, come more prominently into focus. Higher learning is highlighted; many of you may be enrolling in new education programs. International travel and even publishing success are also highlighted. Of course, this activity will require that you step outside of your comfort zone. You may be spending more time away from home and family as a result, but it will be necessary and worth it.

April through June will feel somewhat unwieldy, with May being the most difficult month of 2016. During this three-month period, you will have to find the balance between wanderlust, and fine-tuning the nuts and bolts of your current skillset and knowledge. This will especially hold true on the career front. Forced to juggle many things, the ability to maintain your overall health, schedule, and general well-being will be tested. This is an important theme in effect all year, Cancer. You are learning to be your own authority when it comes to how you manage the affairs of your life. This also includes activity with different groups and networks; if you are contemplating your allegiance to an organization or a special friendship, wait until June for final conclusions. By the time summer gets underway, life will move at a quickened pace!

Eclipses in August through September bring another new chapter, one that increases activity in your immediate environment. This is actually a theme playing out most of the year, but the fall months might see you going back to school, or even joining the world of academia as an expert or advisor. It is equally possible that you are scouting out neighboring towns or states for a possible relocation (which is very likely at the end of the year, or in 2017). Use September to collect information and map out a plan of action. October will be a better month for big decisions surrounding school enrollment or the purchase of property.

The year ends on a sweet note, with expansive energy on the home and family front – just how you like it! 2016 brings plenty of opportunities for abundance, Cancer. Happy New Year!

Cancer in 2015

The year begins just as it ended Cancer – BUSY! I hope you’ve given yourself plenty of time to rest over the holidays, as you are set to hit the ground running starting January 1st. Your plate is filled with tasks, while financial dealings and relationship activities take up much of your time. If you are involved in a commitment or merger, don’t be surprised if you experience some delays. You may also have to go back to the drawing board with negotiations around mid-January into early February, but don’t let this discourage you. It would behoove you to acknowledge important lessons learned during this time. They will come in handy as you begin to focus on how to manage your daily affairs. Everything from your general health and well-being, to time management and scheduling, will come up for review. It will be imperative that you gain better control over these matters if you hope to accomplish all that you’ve set out to do in the New Year. FYI, this will be an ongoing trend into 2017!

Thankfully, life will mellow in March courtesy of a Solar Eclipse. This event marks a new beginning for travel, growth and expansion. Some of you may even decide to go back to school if it will help to broaden your career. Vocational matters continue to be highlighted as you search for more freedom in your current job role. Many Cancers are looking to be self-employed, while others would like to incorporate their creative talents, doing work that feels purposeful. These goals are possible, but you will have to balance them with your responsibilities to others. If you’re married with a family, for example, you may not have the option of becoming a full-time entrepreneur. Or, if you’re involved in a business partnership, compromise may be necessary in order to reach long-term professional advancement. Needless to say, you will have to adjust.

Meanwhile, May through June brings less activity and more reassessing of what comes next. Consider this your mid-year review before another birthday rolls around, and go easy on yourself if you’re unable to get clear on your vision for the future. By July, it will be all systems go, and this time you’ll be primarily focused on your personal resources, skills and talents. In fact, the second half of 2015 would be an opportune time to enroll in a program that will prove to be lucrative in the long run. Just be sure to save your pennies whether you decide to get a new certification, or sign up for classes at your community college; over spending this year is likely. The summer months in particular might see some fluctuation surrounding finances, especially if you’re purchasing a new home or building a nest egg for a baby. September sees even more activity in the way of family planning, while October would be a better month to invest overall.

By the end of the year, life will be a buzz! Increased interactions in a new neighborhood are possible should you relocate, while relationships with siblings and extended family will expand. You will end the year feeling more at home in your skin, and for a Cancer, there’s no better place to be. A very practical and fruitful year awaits you, dear Crab. Enjoy!

Cancer in 2014

Relationship changes have brought subtle growth to your personal life over these past few years. But the energy that kicks off 2014 is anythingbut subtle, and puts the spotlight directly on significant others. Not only will you be reviewing how your mate matches up, but you’ll also be moreexpressively assertive in making sure your needs are being met. If coupled, this could involve taking your commitment to the next level with the purchase of a new home or an engagement ring. There could also be a surprise pregnancy in store for some of you! If single, you’ll consider what matters to you most in partnership, and how to bring your desires to fruition. It will take some time before you reach any final conclusions surrounding heartfelt intentions. In fact, if you can wait until summer, you may be in a better position to act on what you discover.

2013 was a year that saw many Cancers become more aware of themselves and what they want most out of life. As a result, you now feel confident enough to promote your personal agenda, and at the same time, you’re showing up to life more authentic than ever! No longer relying on validation from others, you’re comfortable in your own skin with increased optimism for all the world has to offer. Thus, your relationships are changing (both personal and professional), with some falling by the wayside if they fail to serve you. Be mindful that you don’t become too self-righteous while considering your options – there is thatpossibility.

As the year progresses, fresh energy will enhance this new willful and determined attitude you now possess. All the more reason I suggest you wait until summer before issuing ultimatums; by then, your sense of self-worth will rise, and you’ll no longer be hesitant to boast of certain innate qualities. This could coincide with career changes that continue to bring sudden disruptions (especially in October). But your experience may very well be a positive one, where higher ups start to notice your skills and talents, and are prepared to compensate you accordingly. If at any moment you feel unsettled by all the recognition, it will most likely be attributed to the fact that you are being called upon as an expert or authority. Be humbled, Cancer, but don’t devalue yourself - you’ve owned those bragging rights! There’s also the chance that you decide to venture off as an entrepreneur. If so, luck will remain on your side as long as you believe in your product. A Solar Eclipse in April puts you in contact with networks that can further you along.

This dynamic year ahead will also require added focus and discipline towards your emotional well being. In fact, it will be essential. Opportunities will come at you fast, and call for fast action on your part. Fertile energy dominates these next 12 months, so if you’re tapping into your creative juices or expanding your family (especially now through July), proper nourishment of personal foundations will be vital. You may have thought 2013 was a banner year Cancer, but honey, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!

Happy New Year, Cancer!
