Capricorn in 2023

1/1/2023

A gradual build-up of energy begins right at the start of the year as the planet Mars stations direct in the sign of Gemini on January 13, where it has been retrograde since October 2022.

All the planets in our solar system do what’s called, “retrograde,” with Mercury being the planet that retrogrades most frequently throughout the calendar year. A retrograde planet gives the optical illusion of orbiting the almighty Sun backwards, which can be symbolized as a nudge from the Universe to pause and reroute where necessary, based on where the planet is affecting us in our natal charts.

Now, Mars in Astrology connects us to how we initiate our deepest passions. But while retrograde, assertive efforts feel blocked. Such blocks and thwarted motivation can be frustrating for us down below. So, as the Warrior planet gets back to its regular pace and orbit, you can anticipate that the affairs of life will amplify, a momentum that continues through the spring and summer seasons.

Daily affairs, work, health, and other important routines will get back in rhythm, Capricorn, just the way you like it! Levels of productivity will expand leading to greater achievements throughout your day-to-day. This will be especially important as it relates to personal goals and ambitions if you’ve been lacking motivation; Mercury will also station direct in your sign on January 19, where it’s been retrograde since December 2022 bringing self-questioning and uncertainty.

In fact, self-assertion, personal drive, and independent pursuits feature throughout the months of January and February – fitting for your birthday! If you’ve been working on the launch of a project that has your stamp attached, considering a vanity change, or simply revamping your lifestyle in ways that support self-improvement, the direct stations of Mercury and Mars may very well be connected.

This will, no doubt, lead to greater focus on finances and resources, Capricorn. Interestingly, by the time we enter the spring months, your values and relationship with the material world will undergo major shifts as two momentous cosmic events develop above: Saturn – your ruling planet in Astrology – will ingress (enter) the sign of Pisces on March 8, and Pluto will ingress the sign of Aquarius on March 24 (ending a 16-year tour of your constellation, dear Sea Goat).

Both these planetary shifts are set to bring important lessons to humanity below, especially in the way of social unrest, spiritual growth, and revolutionary coups. For you, a period of personal transformation and restructuring will be complete, leaving you more empowered and self-assured. Confidence will be restored motivating you to redefine your worth and command material wealth in ways that support the new you that has emerged. You may decide to expand upon your financial literacy, as a result, shifting a scarcity mindset to one of abundance. What you think is what you are, Capricorn. Be prepared to sharpen your intellect and mental acuity as you continue to blossom in the coming 12 months.

Spring will be the time to direct your energy in assertive ways. You will feel quite driven and determined as Mars continues to move in forward motion increasing daily affairs. Opportunities during this first quarter or 2023 may beg the need for you to get clear on your overall direction in life. This will be amplified on April 20 when a solar eclipse peaks, bringing new chapters on the home and family fronts. Property matters, relocation, and family milestones all feature.

However, Mercury will station retrograde again the day after the eclipse on April 21, bringing challenges around children, creative projects, and even romantic links. If moving in with a partner, doing renovations around your home, or undergoing domestic change with children, it will feel like you’re taking two steps forward and two steps back. These things will resolve when the Messenger planet stations direct on May 15, and most likely in your favor.

The lunar eclipse peaks on May 5, meanwhile, wrapping up activities within certain groups and affiliations. If leaving behind a work setting or network of friends, it may be because you’re relocating or even possibly going on family leave. Of course, with Mercury retrograde, there will still be delays. But as Jupiter shifts into the sign of Taurus on May 17, you may be, “feeling the love,” so to speak, as expansive energy impacts romantic ties, children, and child’s play.

A surge of energy continues as we reach the summer solstice in the meantime. This year is fast and furious! Relationship matters, new commitments, and aspirational goals will amplify!

That said, the close of July sees Venus stationing retrograde on the 23rd bringing an assessment around intimate matters. If you are settling on a home, considering a romantic commitment, or merging in a business venture, there may be some level of review or ongoing processing. These are just a few examples of how Venus – the planet that connects us to love, beauty, money, and personal aesthetics – will be of impact while retrograde.

This gets a little dicey as Mercury stations retrograde once more just a month later on August 24. At this point of the year, opportunities to further yourself in new directions feature. If considering marriage to someone of a different background, or applying for a loan or scholarship to go back to school, delays in these areas are likely courtesy of Venus and Mercury retrograde.

Such matters will resolve in September when Venus stations direct on the 4th and Mercury stations direct on the 16th. An academic application process will be confirmed. New investments toward entrepreneurial endeavors can now move forward. What may feel like a suspenseful holding pattern finally lifts!

October brings the last two eclipses of the year, meanwhile. A solar event on the 14th inspires new chapters on the career front, while the lunar eclipse on the 28th wraps up ongoing affairs centered around children, romance, and creative aims. You may finally be able to launch an artistic collaboration that brings public recognition, or return to work after time spent on family leave. FYI, these eclipses are connected to the spring pair of eclipse.

Much of 2023 sees you living more authentically, Capricorn. If you’ve forgotten what it’s like to indulge play and pleasure, this is the year where you reclaim and rediscover your inner child. Activities with children could inspire happiness; so, too, could greater love and affection. Of course, this begs the need for you to open to receive such heartfelt sentiments, and for increased vulnerability on your part.

As we close out the year, the pace of life will level out. Time spent resting and in retreat will do you some good in preparation for your next solar return. Actually, November through December does bring some “down time” even with the hectic holidays upon us.

That said, Mercury retrogrades one last time on December 13, which could lead to internal dialogues around personal aims and ambitions. You may be considering important decisions or contemplating what new year resolutions you wish to manifest. Give yourself permission to indulge this period of introspection, Capricorn. And don’t worry, you will feel more motivated to assert independent aims once more in 2024.

Aside from this Mercury’s backward spin, your year ends on a rather intentional note!

Capricorn in 2022

1/1/2022

Every new year we find ourselves in the season of Capricorn. It is your birthday month, and while all the other Zodiac signs are focused on new year resolutions, you are simply in a place of celebration having made it through another year, successes, and all.

The start to 2022 is a bit choppy for everyone, though. Venus is retrograde in your sign, and Mercury will follow suite mid-month. This means that life events from 2021 will carry over, and while we’ll all be expecting a clean slate, we may not get it until the end of February once these planets station direct.

Retrograde planets are an invitation to pause and reconsider. For you, dear Mountain Goat, you may be deep in a process of personal excavation, vanity change, and presentation to the world. Your sign more than any other has seen the most personal growth in the last decade, and another period of significant growth is currently underway.

You’re used to this whole “transformation journey.” You’ve shed many layers over the years releasing things and people that do not support the fullness of you as you evolve into the best version of yourself. What holds you back can no longer be tolerated, and the first quarter of the year sees you doing a clean sweep, considering personal plans and decisions, and ultimately redefining who you are, and who you still hope to become.

Be patient with this work and look to the end of February for some traction around your own independent agendas. This may involve a major announcement, or the unapologetic expression of your opinions, thoughts, needs, and wants, especially as the planet Jupiter gains traction in the sign of Pisces inspiring your “voice.”

Cosmic turning points this year also see you considering what/who you value when it comes to cultivating more joy and happiness in life. No longer putting [too] much stock in the opinions of others – friends, colleagues, family, society (!) – you are seeing yourself as your best frame of reference, and finding ways to experience more love, affection, and child’s play unapologetically. This, too, is a part of your transformation journey, dear Capricorn.

By the time we reach the month of March, the pace of life will pick-up considerably. Home and family matters feature, and this will only amplify late spring/early summer when Jupiter enters the sign of Aries for a short stint. Relocation, family milestones, new additions to your home, domestic change (someone moving in or out), renovation projects, etc. are all highlighted. So, too, is more fun, entertainment, recreation and even some romance as we enter the warm months in the northern hemisphere.

This all coincides with a pair of chapter-changing eclipses set to peak in late spring. A solar event on April 30th brings a new start involving a child, love affair, or an artistic collaboration. The lunar event on May 16th – two weeks later – wraps up your involvement in a group, network, or affiliation.

What concludes with the lunar eclipse will feed the solar eclipse. You may be leaving a professional environment, for example, to go on maternity leave. Or, ending an accelerator program where you’ve connected with folks who can support entrepreneurial endeavors. Themes centering your journey toward more authentic living will be triggered, and you will want to be on the lookout for sudden developments.

What’s more, Mercury will retrograde in between the eclipses, bringing delays around creative aims or romantic suitors. This is especially if true if a platonic connection turns romantic, so be patient as this energy unfolds – June brings momentum in your favor.

In fact, by the time we reach the month June, busy days feature which will be an ongoing trend throughout the remainder of your forecast. You may be focused on work, health and wellness, new chores/responsibilities, a pet, or all the above. Mercury will have stationed direct, too, bringing movement to all things joyous and pleasurable.

The summer months, overall, look to be manageable. Not only is your schedule increasing, but relationships will come into focus, as well. You may be moving forward in a committed partnership or merging in a business venture. New investments are highlighted, especially by late summer, as well as broader aims that could involve travel, or new experiences that lead to professional advancement.

In fact, professional advancement is very likely entering the fall months. You will notice that career activities start to amplify – you may be vying for a competitive role or on the receiving end of a promotion. But Mercury retrograde mid-September through the beginning of October may bring a few new wrinkles and setbacks. This will be especially true if traveling for work or waiting for the results of an important certification that would support career growth.

Typical rule of thumb when Mercury is retrograde is to keep living your life, Capricorn. Try not to strongarm your way through things and look to mid-October for resolution. Once we reach the month of October, you will begin to see some forward movement, and eventually, career matters will begin to wane.

Even with energy shifting forward, however, October still brings some turbulent cosmic weather. First, we will have entered another eclipse season with a solar event peaking on October 25th and a lunar event peaking on November 8th.

Both eclipses center themes of joyous living while leaving the demands of the world behind. The solar event ushers a new start with tribe and community that better reflect your personal (and/or professional) mission, while the lunar event brings culmination to creative projects, and challenges in a love affair. A child may reach an important milestone entering a new academic institution. An artistic endeavor may now be ready to launch to a broader audience.

October also sees Mars stationing retrograde, by far the most important finale of the year! Of all the planets, Mars can be the hardest one to navigate while retrograde. Its energy connects us to our force of will, so when it does a backward spin around the almighty Sun, our energy feels blocked.
Mars will retrograde in the sign of Gemini bringing a rather “manic,” energy. For you, Capricorn, this will be felt in your day-to-day. As I mentioned, busy days come into focus early June, and will continue to build with energy through the remainder of the year. That’s because of Mars; the energy of the warrior planet in astrology is assertive and active.

You may find during this time of year, especially as we enter the holidays, that there is more on your plate. What’s more, because you are an ambitious Capricorn, you will most likely take on too much, and try to juggle more than you can handle.

This could also be interpreted as an ongoing health matter, work responsibilities, travel schedule, and more. There will be a lot of moving parts, and once Mars stations retrograde, some parts may have to be left in suspension.

Ultimately, this period will require that you become a “master adaptor,” ascertaining quickly where, and how, to redirect your energy. Anxiety and stress are likely; the more you can manage your time and energy, the better. Mars will not station direct until January 2023.

You may also need to find time for rest and retreat entering the month of December, Capricorn. Balance between movement and solitude will be necessary as busy days ensue, especially if you are navigating a health matter.

The close of December sees you entering birthday season – yet another trip around the Sun – and once again, you’ll get to close out the year in celebration that will carry into another new year. So, with much happening around you courtesy of Mars, try to relax and give yourself permission to ease into 2023.

There is no rush, Capricorn, only time. Remember that the Universe wants you to be intentional with fun, play, and joy. I encourage you, then, to prioritize what makes you happy in 2022 and pursue whatever that is with the same ambition and drive you do everything else. You of all people deserve to be happy.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CAPRICORN!

Capricorn in 2021

1/1/2021

2020 was a harrowing year for all the signs of the Zodiac. But the one sign that was most able to sneak in moments of success was you, dear Mountain Goat.

Capricorn energy dominated the year, an energy that is hardworking, persevering, disciplined and structured. You were able to build new foundations as needed when the old ones were crumbling. What’s more, new foundations will better serve you as we move through 2021, especially with regards to money and resources.

2021 sees you shifting your attention to the things and people you value. Whether selling property, buying property, leaving a relationship, merging in a marriage, changing spending patterns or working on your own feelings of self-worth and self-esteem, something is being revamped. Whatever that is will bring opportunities for material wealth and security throughout the year.

In fact, this energy starts right at the beginning of the year! It’s your birthday season and as we enter the month of February, finances, possessions, taxes and other monetary discussions will be highlighted. This could come with a few setbacks, too; misunderstandings around a financial contract are possible, along with purchasing delays or money owed that’s late. This may feel discouraging, but setbacks will move forward by March. Try not to make any major financial decisions until then.

The spring period comes in with relative ease, meanwhile. You will be focused on home and family matters, fun and recreation, and these activities will lead to busier days. In fact, a theme in effect all year is encouraging you to find more joy in your days. Whether that looks like spending more time with children or indulging romance and pleasure, this season will be ripe with fertile energy that encourages authentic living.

Late spring sees us entering an eclipse period in the meantime. A lunar and solar eclipse will peak on May 26th and June 10th, respectively, and both will impact you along the health and wellness axis of your chart. An easy interpretation would be if you are recovering from a medical procedure that sees you focused on rest and healing. You may also be starting in a new role or taking on a new position that challenges you to overcome inner doubts and insecurities around your abilities. These are examples of how the eclipse will feed each other.

That said, delays are expected around new starts and a clean bill of health. You may have to undergo multiple tests or procedures before a health matter clears up. Same is true if your start date in a new job role is pushed back. This could also be interpreted as disruptions to your schedule as you take on new routines and responsibilities. These hiccups will also move forward – look to July for smoother days.

The rest of summer brings activities on the relationship front, along with new contract agreements and wanderlust. Give yourself permission to indulge this feel good energy, Capricorn. Hopefully, COVI-19 cases will be on the decline with a new vaccination underway. So, be free! It would behoove you to get out of dodge and indulge new interests and curiosities because the fall sees activity building on the career front.

September will turn your attention to professional endeavors. Whether launching a personal project that brings recognition and prestige, applying for a new job or retiring from a longstanding career, amplified energy will begin to impact the work that you do. In fact, you can expect another round of setbacks throughout it all – interview dates may need to be pushed back, a retirement timeline may change, or a project launch is paused. Just as you’ve experienced throughout this year to date, delays will eventually move forward, and most likely in your favor by November.

As we move toward the end of the year, we will enter another eclipse season. November 19th brings a lunar event that will impact fun, romance and recreation – something is coming full circle with this eclipse. You may be reaching a new romantic milestone or completing an important creative project. Milestones with children also feature.

The solar eclipse on December 4th sees you turning inward for the purpose of self-inquiry and reflection. You end 2021 on a rather quite note as a growing curiosity to indulge new learning, surroundings and communicative endeavors take up greater significance in 2022.

Until then, you’ll be coming into new insights and awareness of “self” that leads to clarity and personal growth. Mid-December sees a personal assessment underway. You may be making vanity changes, undergoing a cosmetic procedure, or focused on ways to simply become the best version of self so that you might start the new year on a more confident note.

Happy New Year, Capricorn!

Capricorn in 2020

1/1/2020

As I prepared to write annual horoscopes this year, I decided to start with you, dear Capricorn. I have so much to tell you; this is going to be a good year! So, let’s get started!

First, you should know that an ongoing process of purging and removing layers in order to give birth to the best version of you continues in 2020. This must include finding time for more joy and pleasure in life, while being more positive and playful. While you will have to put forth the work and effort on “becoming” (as the title of Capricorn Michelle Obama’s book suggests), you, of all the Zodiac signs, understand the importance of hard work. This is not a new experience.

With all that said, Jupiter in your sign for the entire year will bring rewards for your efforts. The planet of luck and fortune is auspicious. As one of the biggest stars in our solar system makes its way through constellation Mountain Goat, life will give you wings. Your labors will soon bear fruit.

You’re most likely feeling this energy now as we begin 2020 in the middle of eclipse season. A solar eclipse peaked in your sign on December 26th, bringing a personal new beginning. This eclipse will have connected to Jupiter making the year ahead one of significant growth and purposeful chapters. With so much cosmic energy centered on you, Capricorn, it would be hard not to feel this surge!

Meanwhile, a lunar eclipse will peak on January 10th bringing a shift or completion in your relationships. A balance between self-interests as they pertain to personal growth, and the responsibilities you have toward important others will be necessary.

This will be a main theme throughout the year; close connections with significant others – family, spouse, romantic partner, business partner, etc. – may need to undergo a few tweaks and adjustments. It will be important to communicate needs and expectations, and February through March may bring a few misunderstandings.

If you are taking short trips to visit siblings, or navigating domestic change, be sure to speak up if feeling uncomfortable or stressed. Communication malfunctions are possible – even the staples of daily life (cell phone, vehicle, laptop, etc.) may bring disruption to your routines. These matters will resolve by the end of March, so use your words to communicate needs.

Spring sees domestic matters coming into focus. You may be renovating your home or focused on relocation. This coincides with sharper discipline around finances, especially if you are budgeting for renovations or trying to save money for a home purchase. What comes up now on the home and family front may be revisited during a tumultuous fall season, so pay attention to new developments.

May through June brings the busiest days of the year, and you may decide to revamp certain aspects of your lifestyle. Everything from daily chores, to fitness and wellness, to how you manage your schedule will be under review. An extended assessment could be the result of domestic change, or a health matter awaiting prognosis. A resolution will come in July.

As we enter the late spring/early summer months, turbulent cosmic weather will be on the rise, and challenging. Lifestyle and health assessments will include those important others that make up your day-to-day. Whether you are settling into a new environment with kids, or dealing with new colleagues at the office, a period of adjustment is highlighted.

Summer eclipses will only compound things as we get three instead of the standard two. Lunar eclipses on June 5th and July 5thmay see you making a personal sacrifice and/or compromise; you can expect some resistance. Meanwhile, a very potent solar eclipse occurring right on solstice on June 21st brings new starts in important relationships. Whatever you sacrifice will be for an important loved one.

As all of this unfolds, you can expect another round of delays and miscommunications in your attempts to reach a compromise in partnerships with others. Try to be patient with so much under consideration. Remember that a resolution comes in July.

August sees the intensity of summer pause for a brief period as another round of intensity builds throughout the fall. Obstacles on the domestic front feature. Whether you’re having difficulties selling property, or experiencing challenges with relatives, there will be little you can do to move these obstacles forward.

This will feel like a standstill Capricorn; home and family may become a battle ground, and work is bound to be impacted too. In fact, if you’re relocating for work, or need to take time off from your job to focus on domestic matters, you may feel frustrated, pulled and conflicted. Your only two options will be to either wait until blocks lift or find a working solution in the interim. To push, force or manipulate will prove futile. As a Capricorn, you will know how best to manage your expectations during this time.

Obstacles ease up in November with domestic progress being made around the end of 2020. You may have to take on a more authoritative approach to navigating setbacks, which involves asserting your will and demanding that it be considered and taken seriously. This will cause some strain with family, no doubt, but it will be necessary. Talks and discussions that support your agenda will also settle by the end of the year.

The close of 2020 sees us entering another eclipse season. November 30th brings a lunar eclipse that will remove a regular part of day-to-day living – a result of what was being assessed back in May and June – while the solar eclipse on December 14th sees new revelations bubble to the surface as you reflect on all that has come to pass.

This will be a whirlwind year indeed, but where you land – where we all land – will be exactly where you need to be. Jupiter will help you to ride the waves of change with ease, and next year, this planet will bless you with abundance in the form of material wealth and stability. Stay the course, Capricorn. It is inevitable that you will reach whatever end goal you seek.

Happy New Year, Capricorn!

Capricorn in 2019

1/1/2019

By now, dear Mountain Goat, you should have a handle on the power that lies at the core of your being. For years, you have been excavating who you are; your sense of identity has been chipped at and stripped away to get to the root of your true self. The elements of life that no longer serve you have been restructured or dismantled entirely, and you have spent the past 12 months laying a new framework for a path better suited to how you are growing and evolving. Damn, Capricorn. It has been a rather intense journey.

The journey continues in 2019, as two new eclipses bring you to that next level. A solar eclipse on January 5th comes with a lot of weight and responsibility around personal aims, encouraging you to get disciplined and focused as you manifest new year resolutions. The lunar eclipse on January 21st will end certain commitments, investments and other agreements that prevent you from focusing on self-promotion, whether you are leaving a company to pursue entrepreneurial ventures or saying goodbye to a relationship partner to attend to your own agenda.

The pressure to stay focused remains in effect throughout the spring as you begin to communicate your plans and priorities. There may be a few misunderstandings if your intentions are questioned. Educational pursuits could be challenged too; a learning curve is possible if you are enrolled in any skills-based training that is meant to further your plans. Mental activities in the form of writing, correspondence, technology, speaking and presentations may undergo setbacks as well. Try not to make any big decisions if faced with obstacles; delays will resolve by April.

The remaining spring months will be more uplifting. Creative ventures, activities involving children, and romantic pursuits feature! A theme that began during the spring of 2018 sees you tapping into your own artistic talents more deliberately. How you are seen and acknowledged for what makes you special, unique, and deserving of love will be a priority. Freedom to focus on joy and pleasure will become a necessity, whether launching your own product, or planning a new addition to your family.

Summer is also jam packed with activity! A solar eclipse on July 2nd brings a new relationship beginning, while the lunar eclipse on July 16th sees you ending an important phase of personal development. An old version of you will be put to rest as you focus on cultivating healthier relationships, be it for business or for pleasure. FYI, mid-July through August could bring some back and forth involving a significant other. Questions around “should I stay, or should I go?” will be prominent; clarity around commitments comes in September.

The final quarter of the year will unfold just as you like it – structured and back to normal everyday routines. Concentrated cosmic energy will still see you focused on commitments, and this is especially true if you are aligning with a new group or affiliation.

Networking is highlighted in November as well. This could be for social gains or professional advancement. There will be more delays, this time involving social contacts. Challenges will move forward by December.

As we close out the year, give yourself permission to reflect on how much you have accomplished. All of 2019 will be an exercise of deep reflection and contemplation matched with self-assertion and peddle to the meddle. Meanwhile, the day after Christmas comes with another solar eclipse joined by Jupiter in your sign. This is auspicious, Capricorn. 2020 sees your wings out-stretched, ready to fly.

Happy New Year, Capricorn!

Capricorn in 2018

1/7/2018

Capricorns everywhere have been coming undone over the past few years. How you see yourself, and your role in this world, has undergone a subtle transformation – a dismantling of who you are, so to speak. This undoing continues in 2018, but now you will simultaneously begin to rebuild who you are by creating a sturdier, more confident, more disciplined you. 2018 is so much more than just another year. It is the year you embark on a whole new life journey that has your signature mark.

We begin the year in Capricorn season – Happy Birthday to you! The first day of the year comes with a powerful Full Moon; it is the Earth’s way of taking a deep breath as this planet experiences another solar return too. You will feel energized and grounded at the start of the year, motivated to pursue your own personal goals and agenda. This will continue into February’s eclipse season, when chapter changes on the horizon see you focused on money matters. How can you invest in the life you wish to cultivate? You will identify the resources required as you leave behind financial commitments and obligations that restrict your ability to invest.

Meanwhile, the spring months bring increased activity on the home and family front. Relocation is possible, along with new home purchases and renovations. As you attempt to nurture your roots, creating emotional comfort as you focus on close loved ones, there may be some minor delays and setbacks. Hold off until the end of April before making any big family decisions. Domestic matters will be resolved as we enter the month of May – a month that brings yet another shift.

As familial activities are restored, recreational pursuits pick-up! A new cycle comes into effect during the month of May, influencing sudden activity around romance, or involving children. A shake-up is in order that may require you to let loose and explore the pleasurable side of life. This is fertile energy too – brainchildren (artistic ideas) along with physical children feature.

As we enter the summer months of 2018, we enter choppy terrain. Cosmic weather will rock our world, courtesy of three eclipses instead of the standard two. Energy builds as early as summer solstice; you will be asserting yourself in financial matters. Whether you are negotiating a salary, trying to sell property, or paying off an old debt, you can expect to come up against severe delays.

Something of value must be surrendered so that you can merge in a partnership – marriage, business, or financial. Such an investment is possible, along with new relationship beginnings. But a hard end to personal resources and security will be necessary. You will be challenged to find a way around setbacks, with progress being made in early September.

The fall months bring calmer days, and networking will begin to take up more time and energy – possibly career related. This will be an influence in effect all year, as you continue to meet new people, and align yourself with different groups and affiliations. A review is in effect mid-October through November that sees you re-evaluating friendships, and your involvement in an institutional setting. If these support groups stymie personal or professional growth, you may be moving on.

By the end of the year, you will be in a low cycle contemplating big decisions in 2019. There may be some back and forth in December, but once 2018 closes, a new influence will be in effect that encourages you to expand and grow from the inside–out. Your journey will soon deepen, dear Goat.

Happy New Year, Capricorn!

Capricorn in 2017

1/1/2017

I have been saying for a few years now that Capricorns are undergoing a significant transformation. Pluto, the planet of rebirth, has been transiting your sign since 2008, and will continue to do so in 2017. I am sure that at first, you did not really feel the impact of Pluto. The dwarf planet is subtle in its maneuvering, but can bring profound change; just look back at the past 9 years and I am sure that you will be able to see just how much has indeed changed, most notably the structures of your everyday life. As this journey of transforming continues to unfold, you are more than prepared to surrender to it as necessary.

The year begins with you deep in thought about your own life’s direction. You sense that there are many wonderful opportunities and initiatives to look forward to in 2017, and you want to make sure that you are intentional when it comes to execution. I don’t doubt that your plans will play out just as they should, especially if you continue to keep an eye on your long-term vision. But right now, your vision might be a little blurred, or you may be considering certain revisions. Give yourself the time and space for considerations; put your plans into motion by month’s end.

February, meanwhile, brings a set of eclipses that will further you along your transformational journey. You may decide to walk away from an important commitment – a job, financial agreement, or even an intimate relationship, so that you can begin to pursue new ambitions that focus on education and increased exchanges in your surroundings. Whether you are finalizing a home purchase in a different community, or receiving a student loan to go back to school, a fresh new environment could bring the mental stimulation that you crave. Eclipses in August will propel you into another new life chapter, as you focus on ways to merge and share your personal resources (love, money, time, energy) with something or someone outside of you.

The spring and summer months are packed with heightened activity too, especially on the home and family front. Renovation projects, domestic matters, and prolonged family discussions will keep your attention in March and April, and you may not find much resolve until May or June. This could bring some element of abruptness, especially if you are having to care for a family member, or preparing for the birth of a child. Your foundations and emotional well-being may be strained, and you will feel a little on edge. Of course, this will all pass, but adjustments may be necessary.

October brings an important shift that sees you joining with new groups, associations, and people of like mind who can further you along when it comes to personal and/or professional goals. Popularity rises as several networking opportunities benefit you now through 2018.

The year ends with yet another important shift that sees you getting even more serious about your life’s direction. As you prepare for new chapters in 2018, you may find that your attitude becomes more sobering and disciplined. This should, of course, help you to push forth on your agenda, especially given all the inner digging and questioning that got you to the point of trusting yourself and the decisions you make. 2017 sees you planting more seeds; 2018 sees you reaping what you have sown.

Happy New Year, Capricorn!

Capricorn in 2016

I would like to applaud you, dear Capricorn, for your resilience. Transformation in your own personal life, as well as with regards to home matters, has rocked your core over the past few years, and will continue to be the case in 2016. This year, however, you are much stronger. You know the strength of your spirit. You are equipped to more easily move past barriers. You are the epitome of what it means to be empowered. If you can arm yourself with just these four truths, life will bend to your will over the next 12 months.

The New Year literally begins with a new you, given that it is still your birthday season! Personal goals and your own personal agenda will be your concerns as the month of January is underway; this would be a prime time to get your plans in order. However, delays are inevitable as cosmic activity brings an intentional slow down. Use this time, then, to re-strategize. All systems will be clear for take off with new goals in February.

Meanwhile, March will be a big a month, especially when it comes to education and learning that benefits you on the career front. Eclipses bring opportunities for real world dream attainment. It may require that you walk away from a longstanding job, but the benefits outweigh the costs. You are being pushed toward work that gives you purpose and meaning – a true vocation, Capricorn. You will see the positive effects by the end of this year, and throughout 2017.

April through June bring increased activity too, which stems around your subconscious self. This might beg the need to take an important hiatus from the hustle and bustle of life, as you attempt to go deep within, and gain a better understanding of your inner workings. Events at this time might trigger low energy and exhaustion. You will have to find the proper balance between what you value in the way of personal beliefs, and what you have always been taught, for the sake of healthy perspectives. Yours is a sign that sticks with what it knows, but you may have to step out on faith. The same uncertainty will also arise in an important relationship. A romantic tie, creative collaboration, or speculative venture may be up for reexamination. Questions around fertility will also feature, and the month of May (the most difficult month of 2016) might bring challenges around children or a pregnancy. If you run into any obstacles, take it as your cue to lean back. You can’t plan your way around this hiccup. A turning point comes in June.

The summer months through the end of the year will bring an increase in energy that sees you living more aligned with your own core values and truth. Something (or someone) that no longer supports new life goals will be released so that you might begin focusing on what matters. Eclipses in August and September will shift your attention toward what brings you meaning in life, and this could be what influences success on the career front next year. You simply can’t lose in 2016; this, I know for sure.

Happy New Year, Capricorn!

Capricorn in 2015

1/1/2015

I know a lot of Goats out there who are experiencing sudden emotional revelations, while working to build solid foundations that provide a sense of comfort and well-being. This process hasn’t been easy, and personal transformation remains a theme in 2015. As you continue to tear down walls that hide you from yourself, you are met with an intense need for freedom from family obligations and past conditioning that no longer serve you. This will involve some adjustments, more specifically, being OK with expressing your emotions and not become consumed by them. Thankfully as an Earth sign, you don’t have to worry about being consumed by your emotions. It rarely happens! Actually, you should welcome the opportunity to dig in, and finally release.

Truth be told; this year is going to be an emotional one. I don’t mean that in a bad way, as I’m sure you automatically concluded. I’m just letting you know that a great deal of your time will be spent focused on feelings – from developing inner peace and understanding of what goes on in your subconscious world, to how you experience vulnerability. A good strategy would be to take whatever comes up just one day at a time. Addressing hidden facets of your personality is where you will be tested the most, so go slow and know that you are supported.

Meanwhile, as you begin to get in touch with your inner self, much of 2015 sees you delving into committed projects and joint ventures. Be mindful of where you invest your time, love, and energy, as there will be ample opportunity for you to merge in business or pleasure (avoid signing on that dotted line in January and February, as well as August and September). How this unfolds, however, may be uncertain at different points of the year. Your lifestyle and daily routines undergo some level of disruption from mid-May through mid-June, while work matters hit a snag in September. Be mindful of these trends in order to avoid feeling overwhelmed by all that is being demanded of you. Creating a sacred space for “self” will bring calm during moments of uncertainty, and you will need increased amounts of time to yourself in order to nourish you personal reserves, which need to regular replenishing. This will ensure that you make healthy decisions throughout the year, and if you can take the time to teach yourself such mindful practices (especially in March), you will only benefit.

By the end of 2015, eclipse energy will encourage you to explore unknown terrain. This will be quite timely as your internal search for purpose and fulfillment expands. You are beginning to understand the deeper meaning of your life’s current trajectory, and while yours is a sign that prefers to have a plan in place, the plan should remain flexible as your awareness for all that is possible becomes clearer. You already have the answers that will change your mindset, and you really do have a say in the activities of your life. If you can focus on those systems that enhance your personal development, I can promise you that everything else will magically fall into place.

Happy New Year, Capricorn!

Capricorn in 2014

1/1/2014

The year begins with the Sun in yoursign, along with the planets Mercury, Venus, Pluto and a New Moon. Consider yourself lucky, dear Capricorn, as you are the most poised to ring in the New Year on a cheery high! Many of you are celebrating birthdays this month, which only adds to the commitment and dedication put forth in any resolutions and new beginnings. You may be focused on making serious changes to your look at this time (and if so, try to hold off until March for all cosmetic procedures), or you may simply feel devilishly attractive in your own skin. Either way, you’re drawing the attention of many admirers, so soak it up and enjoy…you deserve it!

It’s probably a good thing that you’re in an optimistic state of mind as we kick off 2014. Work matters have kept you busy since the beginning of December, which may have left you feeling depleted at the end of last year. FYI, this will continue to be the case through July, and there will be moments when you feel overwhelmed by the added weight of your responsibilities. Frustrations will arise if you find that the work you do doesn’t align with the skills and talents you have to offer. You’re on a search for meaning in every aspect of your life (a result of the personal transformation you are currently undergoing). Thus, any professional role you take on must give you a sense of purpose and fulfillment. If you find that you’ve outgrown office politics and repressive environments where your attributes are not recognized, you may very well decide to venture off on your own. Of course, being the pragmatic Goat that you are, I don’t doubt that you’ll ensure all of your affairs are in order before taking the big leap.

Meanwhile, home and family changes are still prevalent. You’ve grown accustomed to sudden events (from pregnancies to residential moves to marriage or divorce), and hopefully it’s helped you to become more firm within, when it comes to your personal foundations and emotional well being. This year sees a lot more activity (in October, especially), so it will be important to maintain the life balance that you strive for everyday. You may notice that work matters and home matters go hand in hand – some of you may be moving for work, while others may be working from home. These types of “mergers” are in store primarily during the second half of the year, so make sure you’re on top of all that’s shifting in these areas.

The good news is that your relationships continue to deepen in 2014, especially after March. If you’re in a relationship, marriage may very well be on the cards. If you’re single, this year will be stellar when it comes to dating and courtship. If you’re already married, intimacy and renewed vows will further cement your bond. A grandiose feeling will compliment this energy, which may see many Capricorns out of their element when it comes to high romance. Steadiness and stability in your relationships are preferred, but this leaves out fireworks and passion. You can expect doses of both being injected into any and all significant partnerships, feeling nothing but love as a result.

Happy Birthday, Capricorn! Happy New Year, too!
