Leo in 2023

1/1/2023

A gradual build-up of energy begins right at the start of the year as the planet Mars stations direct in the sign of Gemini on January 13, where it has been retrograde since October 2022.

All the planets in our solar system do what’s called, “retrograde,” with Mercury being the planet that retrogrades most frequently throughout the calendar year. A retrograde planet gives the optical illusion of orbiting the almighty Sun backwards, which can be symbolized as a nudge from the Universe to pause and reroute where necessary, based on where the planet is affecting us in our natal charts.

Now, Mars in Astrology connects us to how we initiate our deepest passions. But while retrograde, assertive efforts feel blocked. Such blocks and thwarted motivation can be frustrating for us down below. So, as the Warrior planet gets back to its regular pace and orbit, you can anticipate that the affairs of life will amplify, a momentum that continues through the spring and summer seasons.

Social engagements, time spent with friends, conferences, and other events that see you connecting with more people will begin to move forward. This is especially true as it relates to work matters, ongoing projects, health, and other duties; Mercury will also station direct in the sign of Capricorn on January 19, where it’s been retrograde since December 2022 bringing hiccups to your regular routines and daily affairs.

In fact, busy days, doctor appointments, new chores and tasks, and growing responsibilities all feature throughout the months of January and February. If returning to an academic institution after the holiday break or submitting a proposal for work within a company or affiliation, the direct stations of Mercury and Mars may very well be connected.

This will, no doubt, inspire new partnerships and collaborations, Leo. Interestingly, by the time we enter the spring months, energy surrounding all-important connections (spouse, friend, relative, business partner, etc.) will undergo a major shift as two momentous cosmic events develop above: Saturn will ingress (enter) the sign of Pisces on March 8, and Pluto will ingress the sign of Aquarius on March 24.

Both these planetary shifts are set to bring important lessons to humanity below, especially in the way of social unrest, spiritual growth, and revolutionary coups. For you, Leo, unions forged – be they business or personal – will experience significant change and restructuring, and come with weight.

You may be merging in entrepreneurial endeavors that bring lucrative reward, or merging in a marital tie that sees you combining your assets and resources. What’s more, intimate matters feature in ways that could see you taking some risks, and beg the need for vulnerability. Where you are investing your time, energy, love, expertise, money, etc., may come with added pressure but important gains.

Spring will be the time to direct your energy in both assertive and entrepreneurial ways. You will feel quite driven and determined, too, as Mars continues to move in forward motion connecting you with different associations. Opportunities during this first quarter or 2023 may beg the need for you to get clear on your overall direction in life. This will be amplified on April 20 when a solar eclipse peaks, inviting you to dream a little bigger, step outside of your comfort zone, and aim for the stars.

However, Mercury will station retrograde again the day after the eclipse on April 21, which will bring delays around new chapters. This is especially true if considering a work opportunity abroad, or editing the manuscript that could lead to public recognition for your skills and talents. It will feel like you’re taking two steps forward and two steps back as you consider your options. But these things will resolve when the Messenger planet stations direct on May 15, and most likely in your favor.

The lunar eclipse peaks on May 5, meanwhile, wrapping up activities on the home and family fronts. Domestic obligations may finally conclude, paving the way for you to branch out and pursue new experiences that give you meaning and purpose.

Of course, with Mercury retrograde, there will still be delays. But as Jupiter shifts into the sign of Taurus on May 17, you may be riding a wave of professional success that sees you building upon your true vocational path and legacy. The energy above is conspiring on your behalf, Lion.

In the meantime, a surge of energy continues as we reach the summer solstice and your birthday season. This year is fast and furious! Time in reflection, vacations under the Sun, personal goals, and financial dealings all feature!

That said, the close of July sees Venus stationing retrograde in your sign on the 23rd, bringing a self-assessment and evaluation. Vanity changes, personal goals, and performance reviews are just a few examples of how Venus – the planet that connects us to love, beauty, money, and personal aesthetics – will be of impact while retrograde.

This gets a little dicey as Mercury stations retrograde once more just a month later on August 24. At this point of the year, money matters, purchases, and new streams of income feature. A salary increase may be linked to that performance review. Personal goals may need to be re-assessed if resources are limited. These things will undergo delay courtesy of Venus and Mercury retrograde.

Such matters will resolve in September when Venus stations direct on the 4th and Mercury stations direct on the 16th. A self-assessment that enhances your own self-esteem and self-worth, for example, will be completed. Financial talks and discussion may work out in your favor, providing you with the resources to assert independent aims. What may feel like a suspenseful holding pattern finally lifts!

October sees two more eclipses, meanwhile. A solar event on the 14th brings a new start to learning endeavors and the lunar eclipse on the 28th wraps up activities on the career front. FYI, these eclipses are connected to the spring pair of eclipses.

You may be on the receiving end of a professional license or certification that can be utilized in group trainings. This could also be interpreted as the end of your tenure within a company setting as you return to academia.

Remember, Leo, much of 2023 sees you focused on the legacy you’re meant to leave behind. Whatever chapters conclude on the career front will feed new starts in the way of education and knowledge sharing. Whether teaching what you know to others, sharing your expertise as a public speaker, or putting your wisdom to paper in the form of a motivational book, be open to new directions that pull you into uncharted territory.

As we close out the year, the pace of life will expand around home, family, creative projects, time centering children, love and affection as we enter the holidays! November through December sees a surge of energy building as it relates to times spent with close loved ones, and even a romantic link.

That said, Mercury retrogrades one last time on December 13, bringing hiccups around children, creative projects, and romance. A love affair may be hard to launch during the busiest time of year; this could also look like interruptions courtesy of young ones in your family out of school on winter break.  But not to worry – these matters will resolve in the new year, Leo. Aside from Mercury’s backspin, 2023 ends on a rather hopeful note!

Leo in 2022

Your health and lifestyle were major themes in 2021, and that continues in 2022. In fact, the start of the new year brings an assessment of your lifestyle overall, one that technically began toward the end of last year.

You may be (re)considering your routines, fitness regimens, work schedule, and ongoing chores, Lion, especially if you find yourself performing at low capacity, or unable to cultivate a better quality of living.

This could also involve who you are spending time with and those relationships that contribute to your day-to-day. If you are trying to get into a grove with a new love interest or move on with your regular routines after the end of a long-standing love affair, the first few weeks of the year may come with some starts and stops until you find your rhythm.

FYI, you may not find your rhythm until the end of February, which marks the real start to the new year. What’s more, the lifestyle changes you’re considering go beyond getting fit and having a healthy work/life balance. Your life is changing, and how you manage daily affairs will be important. Whether preparing for parenthood or merging in a marital tie, how you live, overall, must be assessed.

Intimate dealings such as marriage, business ventures, contract agreements, and other commitments that come with some level of risk and vulnerability feature the first half of the new year. Jupiter’s ingress of Pisces may expand upon intimacy in love, as well as with money. You could find yourself in the throes of a new sexual relationship or forging an entrepreneurial partnership.

Cosmic turning points this year center your legacy and emotional home, as well. Career change is likely, as well as domestic change, and all of this corroborates with themes that involve your way of life dominating the year ahead.

Once we enter the season of spring, you’ll be able to get back to just living. A surge of energy will be felt that brings wanderlust, travel, professional focuses, and even networking! Social engagements may fill your calendar, and that will be the case through the end of 2022. Online conferences as well as visits to foreign lands feature, too. You may launch a learning program or build upon your legacy, and these activities will all amplify during the first eclipse season of the year.

A solar eclipse on April 30th offers a new start in your work and profession, while the lunar event that follows on May 16th brings closure around domestic matters. You may be relocating for work, beginning a career in real estate, or supporting a loved one in a business venture.

That said, there may be a few delays and hiccups throughout the month of May that center a new career chapter. Whether negotiating a relocation stipend or identifying a start date within a new company or affiliation, setbacks are likely until the first week of June – be patient.

Once June hits, it’ll be all systems go! Aspirations that support vocational growth, along with increased interactions for both social and work gains, are still highlighted entering the summer season. You may need to rest a bit after a whirlwind cosmic period before your birthday season begins; by that point, another energetic surge will see you in your element living large, playing hard, and attracting admirers!

The summer months bring activities on the financial front, short trips, and learning endeavors. Journeys far are also highlighted as Jupiter makes its way to the sign of Aries for a short mid-year stint. You may be feeling restless and inspired to take advantage of new experiences. Only the sky will be your limit – it would behoove you to take a few leaps of faith and consider new possibilities!

The hype of summer begins to mellow as we close out the season entering the month of September. In fact, mid-September through the first week of October brings more delays courtesy of Mercury retrograde. You may be (re)negotiating a contract or salary, finalizing settlement on a new home in a new community, or seeking funding for an education program. Setbacks will resolve entering October, so again, be patient.

The last quarter of the year, meanwhile, comes with more cosmic twists and turns that ensure 2022 ends on a rather full note. For starters, we’ve got another pair of eclipses set to peak on October 25th (solar) and November 8th (lunar) triggering themes that center work and family.

The solar eclipse ushers in a new chapter on the domestic front – loved ones and property (especially if you are, in fact, relocating), feature. The lunar event, meanwhile, brings concluding events on the career front. You may be wrapping up an important work project that allows for more time spent at home or making career changes entirely to better support your emotional health and wellness.

Remember that these eclipses are meant to support your overall lifestyle, Leo. There may be sudden developments that unfold, and you’ll have to be mindful of change afoot. This will be especially important closing out the year because Mars will station retrograde in between the two eclipses.

Of all the planets, Mars can be the hardest one to navigate while retrograde. Its energy connects us to our force of will, so when it does a backward spin, our energy feels blocked. You, specifically, will be impacted by Mars when it comes to networking, group affiliations, and your involvement in different organizations. If you are managing a major event for work, launching a philanthropic non-profit, or even planning a wedding, there will be a lot of moving parts that could bring some level of anxiety.

What’s more, multiple delays will carry you into the new year – Mars will not station direct until January 13, 2023. This energy may feel a bit “manic,” so you would be wise not to scatter yourself as we close out 2022; in other words, be flexible where possible.

Keep in mind, too, that other life events are still happening! Home and family activities for the holidays will be followed by fun, play, and recreation. These may all serve as healthy distractions from cosmic shenanigans!

Your year will end of a busy note, Leo, just as it started. As the most gregarious sign of the Zodiac, I don’t doubt that you’ll find a way to make lemonade out of any lemons you catch with a creative flair that everyone enjoys!

Mercury retrograde in late December may bring hiccups to ongoing responsibilities. But as my dad says, “Life has this funny way of continuing.” Just keep being your fabulous self and continue to focus on quality living. 2023 will come in fast and quick!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, LEO!

Leo in 2021

1/1/2021

2020 was a year that centered lessons on adjustments for you, dear Leo. For a while, now, you’ve been cultivating practices, routines and lifestyle changes that support more quality living, and last year tested the strength of your foundations to see just how well you would be able to navigate life being upended.

I’m happy to report that you passed that test. That’s not to say you weren’t challenged to stick to a work-out routine, prioritize mental health and wellness while managing changing schedules that have kept you afloat! But you did your best and stayed committed. For that, you most likely ended 2020 on a strong note.

Now that you’ve got a rhythm to life that consistently gives you energy and keeps you healthy, how can you integrate others? Oh yea, that’s the big question of 2021! You’ve done a great job at solidifying daily habits and organizing regular responsibilities, but how does it all work when you have other people to consider?

The year ahead brings relationships into focus, dear Lion. Not only will there be greater demands put on your time by close loved ones, new connections made will present you with an opportunity to merge and forge close ties. You’re learning how to commit to proper relating, in other words. Yours is a fiercely independent sign that craves intimacy and companionship, and this is the year where you will find it, or lose it, if you’re committed to sharing yourself with another deemed worthy.

Of course, this means getting back to the relationship you have with yourself, and the month of February may alert you to the state of that relationship. Misunderstandings with important others may be triggering. This could also look like the return of relationships from your past that require closure and reconciliation. You may also have some tough decisions to make regarding boundaries and maturely advocating for your own needs.

You can expect smoother relating by the time we reach the spring season, which will allow you to focus on more outward aims, namely your dreams for the future, career and profession. In fact, a theme in effect all year brings subtle changes on the work front that may have amplified during the year of COVID-19. Be open to opportunities, especially as we reach the eclipses on May 26th and June 10th. You might just become more visible to the public eye as a result of a successful creative launch or enhanced authentic living.

June brings a lot of social engagements that will hopefully feel less restricted now that vaccinations for the coronavirus are underway. You may be joining a new group or affiliation while gaining popularity in the process. This will further contribute to your being seen. Public recognition for a job well done, or simple recognition in general, is likely.

Another round of setbacks at this time are highlighted, however. Social events may need to be postponed while time spent with friends proves disruptive. No matter your experience, you’ll be interfacing with more people who support both personal and professional aims. Delays will move forward just in time for your birthday season in July.

The summer months see you back in your element, Leo. You’ll be vibrating at a higher octave courtesy of the Sun’s ingress of your sign, feeling more joyous and recreational. This will lead to more social engagements, an enhancement of self and resources, short trips and increased communications by the fall. Even learning endeavors and mental pursuits will be on the rise!

That said, end of September brings another round of delays that could impact mental pursuits. Miscommunications are likely along with disruptions to the staples of your day – cell phone, laptop, vehicle, etc. Try not to make major decisions or sign contracts during this time. Misunderstandings will resolve by the end of October.

The last two months of 2021 bring another eclipse season with a lunar and solar event on November 19th and December 4th, respectively. Career matters will be highlighted, once again, along with romance, children and recreational pursuits. You may be going on maternity leave at this time or taking a vacation from work for a romantic getaway! An artistic collaboration that leads to another new chapter on the career front is also possible.

This all coincides with a theme of new mergers and investments underway. You may finally tie the knot in a marriage proposal or sign a contract that leads to professional advancement. Be sure that all agreements prove lucrative, Leo.

Also beware that new commitments may beg the need for more tweaks and adjustments around how you manage your regular routines and overall lifestyle – this will be the case through the start of 2022. Remember, you’re learning how to be more inclusive. Your year has the potential of ending on a thriving note when you include others.

Happy New Year, Leo!

Leo in 2020

What I love about this year ahead for you, dear Leo, is that you are really coming into your own. You know what you want in life, and you are not afraid to work for it. You understand that discipline and focus will be required, which ensures that you end the year with every dream made manifest.

Health, wellness, work and other routines are highlighted throughout the year. But Leo, this isn’t just about your hustle. It’s about a hustle and flow. You have to learn when to stay in motion, and when to lean back and wait. The waiting part may be the hardest part for a fiery sign like you.

You get your first test as we open the year in between eclipses. A solar eclipse that peaked on December 26th, 2019 will bring a new responsibility to your day – a project at work, a health regimen, a child, etc. The lunar eclipse on January 10th hits you behind the scenes, reminding you that new responsibilities need balancing with rest and time in solitude.

You can’t expect to attend to daily activities if you’re not attending to your soulful needs, Leo. Again, hustle and flow; Jupiter in the sky will add to your schedule while Pluto and Saturn simultaneously work to put an end to poor habits and build new structures that better support your lifestyle. All the more reason to balance the demands of your day with rest and retreat – this is a theme throughout all of 2020.

Relationship partners and commitments dominate the first quarter of the year, as you get a taste of what’s to come in 2021. Whether you are forging a business collaboration or investing in a romantic union, your connections with others will take on a more serious tone.

You will be putting your foot down in all important ties as you become an authority on worthy commitments, and unworthy commitments. FYI, there may be misunderstandings and delays involving important partnerships and commitments February through March. Be patient as agreements and connections with others settle.

The spring months, meanwhile, bring increased networking, group activities and organizational developments. This is especially true if you are navigating change on the work front or attempting to take advantage of new opportunities through travel and higher learning. Pay attention to developments around such broadened pursuits, as you may be revisiting activity here during the fall.

As networking increases, you will be meeting new people that support both personal and professional aims, which will assist you with career change. An influence in effect all year will encourage you to revamp your vocation. But you can expect an extended review starting mid-May throughout all of June as you consider new affiliations. An evaluation will soon be underway when it comes to your involvement in a new group or work setting and atmosphere.

The early summer further compounds whatever is under review as we enter some turbulent cosmic weather that includes three eclipses instead of the standard two. Lunar eclipses on June 5th and July 5th bring completions around creative aims and daily responsibilities. You may be launching a creative endeavor that took a lot of work, and its success may be dependent upon an important group or network (where there is an evaluation).

A very potent solar eclipse is nestled in between these lunar eclipses right at solstice on June 21st. This eclipse will be a reminder that you’ve done all you can to reach a certain end goal, Leo. Now, you must wait. This eclipse coincides with a sleepy period that may see you questioning and navigating uncertainty around your efforts. But trust that by the end of July, all will be resolved. You will have landed in your right tribe (group, organization, etc.) affirmed that you are on the right track.

August sees the whirlwind of summer on pause for a brief period before another round of intensity builds throughout the fall in the form of obstacles with higher aims. Travel, academia and vocational training may be blocked due to circumstances beyond your control.

If you’re applying for a higher degree program, enrollment may be postponed. If you are applying for a visa or passport, there may be an administrative review process that threatens your ability to travel. However you attempt to broaden yourself – literally and figuratively – you can expect setbacks. Your only options will be to either wait until obstacles lift or find working solutions in the interim.

This may also lead to a lot miscommunication. Application documents go missing while decisions around enrollment or travel are stalled. You will notice these delays lift around the end of November, with momentum restored by the end of 2020. Try to be patient and be mindful of inner angst and anxiety that may build during this time.

The close of the year brings calm, along with two new eclipses. A lunar eclipse on November 30th sees an end to your association within a group or affiliation, which will be connected to whatever was under review during the months of May and June. A solar eclipse, meanwhile, will shift your attention to more fun and creative activities that reflect your most authentic self.

This will be a wonderful way to end the year with so much choppy cosmic weather mixed throughout. You may find that everything that happens, happens for a reason, and you end up exactly where you wish to be.

Where that is could be in the throes of a new love affair, Leo! Fun and recreational activities include romance and affection, while a new end of year theme brings enhancement in all relationships. This will carry you into 2021 and you will feel much lighter with more love to give. This year ends on a solid note.

Happy New Year, Leo!

Leo in 2019

1/1/2019

2018 saw many Leos tending to the affairs of their lives. It was a year of growth, enduring, surrendering and initiating, and no doubt, you are better for it. 2019 brings more adulting as you continue to cultivate a better quality of life. What will be different this year, however, is that you will enter it more empowered, more determined, and more confident.

Eclipses in January trigger an important chapter beginning. New projects will be yours to launch as the solar eclipse peaks on January 5th. Whatever unfolds will come with increased responsibilities (new beginnings could even involve your health). Meanwhile, the lunar eclipse on January 21st occurs in your sign. This will be a humbling event that asks you to put aside ego needs as you prepare for whatever new chapter begins during the solar eclipse.

As energy from the eclipses continue to unfold throughout the spring, greater discipline and focus will be required. A steadfast approach will bring success to new endeavors, especially as you begin to run up against setbacks.

Important investments, contractual agreements, and intimate dealings undergo delays in March. Tax documents may go missing, business collaborations may need to be postponed, and romantic attachments could be derailed. As stalls develop, be prepared to cut your losses. You must exercise discernment when forging new commitments. Be mindful of where and with whom you share your resources; obstacles will resolve by April.

The rest of spring sees you focused on career aims as shake-ups and transitions bring activity. This could lead to instability on the work front; a theme that began in 2018 is starting to crystallize, encouraging you to identify your true vocation. If you have been stuck in a job that doesn’t serve you, now would be the time to make deliberate adjustments in pursuit of your right vocation. If you are already on that path, you can expect a few curve balls that lead to a greater sense of purpose.

Summer comes with two more eclipses – a solar eclipse on July 2nd bringing a new start behind the scenes, and a lunar eclipse on July 16th bringing a completion of activity in your day-to-day. These eclipses will feed one another; a project that reaches completion could lessen your load as you retreat to more spiritual aims. Or, a health matter could beg the need for you to rest and take time off.

No matter what unfolds, the summer months will be rather quiet months. An extended low energy cycle will see you in a more contemplative space. Retreat, renewal and restoration will be your priorities, especially if you are making a big personal change or considering an important decision. Indulge this cycle; you will have more energy and greater clarity once it comes to an end.

As we enter the month of September, you will feel a surge of energy. Not only will you be back in your fiery element, change will be underway. Money matters, short trips, family, and creative projects fill your days as we close out the year. While there may be delays around domestic events in November, holiday planning with relatives should be eventful. Meanwhile, romance, children, and artistic endeavors are in store as well. In fact, these themes will be in effect throughout all of 2019.

The year ends with a solar eclipse on December 26th, a belated Christmas gift. Another potent new beginning to your day-to-day is in store. But it will feel rather light and exciting as Jupiter begins its transit of Capricorn. Expect busier days as these cosmic shifts unfold; activities will be enjoyable. Whether you are developing an artistic endeavor, or busy with a new baby, all will be well.

Happy New Year, Leo!

Leo in 2018

This will be an important year, Leo. One in which you must buckle down and get serious about the daily affairs of life (health, schedules, wellness, etc.). I realize that this may sound rather sobering. But it is the sobering of life that will enhance your quality of life in due time.

The year begins with you focused on where to re-invent and re-invest yourself. What are your priorities? Where do you want to focus your energy? How can you cultivate a better lifestyle? These questions will come up for review throughout the year, and eclipses in February will bring you your first clue. Relationship matters are highlighted again in 2018, courtesy of eclipses, and you will be deciding which relationships enhance your quality of life, and which ones take away from your quality of life. Anyone you would consider to be a significant other, features. New relationship beginnings are possible, but only if it fits with how you wish to cultivate the life you desire.

The spring months add energy to expansive motivations, Leo. Travel, higher learning, and a sense of broadening will further influence your ability to soar. Grounded enthusiasm will be necessary – you do not want to get too carried away with thoughts of all that is possible! You can expect a few setbacks as you attempt to spread your wings. Glitches and delays around foreign travel, higher learning, or even publishing may trip you up mid-March through mid-April.

Meanwhile, the month of May brings probably the biggest shake-up of your year – this involves career matters. A sudden shift could see you on a new professional path entirely, but not without some resistance and discomfort (Leos do not like change). Over the past few years, you have been challenged to step outside of your comfort zone to explore more of what gives you purpose. If you are not working in a field that fulfils you, this shake up could shake you into your right vocation. Be patient as this energy unfolds, and hold on tight as we enter the summer months.

July through August brings three eclipses instead of the regular two. Both are affecting you in important relationships, with a hard stop/no in July. Momentum will begin to build in June, akin to a pressure cooker. Whatever is not working in an important relationship will force you to find another way, or walk away entirely.

As this choppy energy intensifies throughout the summer, pay attention to your instincts. You may find it relatively easy to tap into your inner source of wisdom. All you must do is get quiet, quit roaring, and listen. A personal new beginning is in store for you, no matter what occurs. Just be patient with yourself, and with others. There may be some minor delays toward the end of August as you consider important decisions, but relationship matters will move forward as we enter the month of September.

Fall will be much calmer as you shift your focus toward home and family. This is an influence in effect all year, bringing expansion in the form of relocation, family planning, and emotional nourishment. A review is in effect October through November that sees you reassessing property matters, or activities involving loved ones. This will resolve by the end of November, so be patient throughout the process, especially if you are buying a new home.

Meanwhile, your year ends on a cheery note! Romance, creative projects, and child’s play are featured. This is fertile energy that could see many Leos welcoming a new baby, or experiencing a love affair. If you put in the “life work” required in 2018, you will be rewarded for your efforts.

Happy New Year, Leo!

Leo in 2017

What can I say, Leo? 2016 wasn’t so bad; at least, the density of life that gripped you in 2015 seems to have lifted. Last year saw you trying on new legs, and standing on your own two feet. Domestic matters may have calmed some, as you began to get better acclimated to a new normal. The year ahead sees you planting your feet even more firmly, becoming more inwardly centered, while cementing new foundations that give you the energy and resolve to navigate events of the external world.

The year begins with the readjustment of daily affairs. Plans set and appointments made may need to be rescheduled. Even when it comes to how you manage your time and day-to-day routines; you may have to be flexible and learn to go with the flow as best you can. This is all temporary, Leo; your schedule will begin to feel more manageable by the time we reach the end of the month/beginning of February.

Meanwhile, eclipses in February are set to initiate a new chapter beginning. You may find that an element of your own self and well-being is released or surrendered, so that you can begin to merge more fully with others. As I said in last year’s horoscope, relationships will begin to take center stage this year, as you work to find the balance between I and We; this is true for business partnerships as well as in artistic collaborations. You have been experiencing a few challenges in romance, creative projects, and with children. 2017 will be a big make or break year with significant others – strong relationships could go the distance, but will require some heavy lifting on your part and a willingness to change. No, Lion, you can’t just have it your way. Remember that. Relationship lessons will be repeated in August, courtesy of two more eclipses.

March and April could bring a welcomed distraction from partnership activity, especially if you are navigating tense relations. Travel, higher learning, study, research, and anything else that broadens your mind and expands your worldview will be highlighted. You may be visiting foreign lands, or learning a new philosophy that influences your own core beliefs. This would be a good time to indulge in wanderlust, and any desire to step outside of your comfort zone. But FYI, you will experience a few setbacks in the process, especially if you are planning a big trip, or dealing with international/legal matters. Obstacles may come up that lead you to question all that is true, and how best to cultivate a life that brings more meaning and fulfillment. What that entails will not be made clear until May or June, so bide your time, and expect delays.

The fall months bring a couple of turning points, especially with regards to your place of residence, and the demands of your time. This year will see you exploring new neighborhoods, cities, and states, all the while meeting people from different communities that make you feel at home. Thus, you may decide to relocate in October through 2018. Despite a few obstacles around finances in September, planetary alignments suggest expansion, both literally and figuratively, to your home life and emotional well-being. Meanwhile, the end of 2017 shifts your focus to daily chores as you become more disciplined in managing your time, health, and well-being. Long-term creative projects in the form of brainchildren or physical children could be what influences a more structured lifestyle. A life change is in store.

Leo in 2016

You are coming off of a big year, Leo. 2016 will bring sweet rewards for opportunities indulged in 2015. You have been forced into a whole new world – a whole new way of living and being! Abundance is yours for the taking, with the second half of 2016 bringing growth around learning and education. Get ready to embrace more of the unknown dear Lion – it suits you well.

January begins with focus on health and wellness. You are ready to start taking better care of your body, and get a better handle on your schedule and daily affairs. There may be a few false starts, however, which see you going back to the drawing board on life management. February will be a good month for routines to stick, so try to ease into any new schedule and fitness regimens.

Eclipses in March will add a little flavor to life, as your attention shifts toward intimate matters. Many Leos will be taking out loans for investments at this time, and it is equally possible that a romantic connection leads to a greater commitment. The theme of vulnerability will be fully in effect, requiring you to let go of what you think you know, and trust in what is. Conversations and negotiations will culminate as you sign on the dotted line for love, or for money.

Meanwhile, April through June will be a stressful time of year, with the month of May proving to be the most difficult. Tension in love, with children, or with regards to a creative project will surface, and it will feel as though you are taking two steps forward and two steps back. This will be fertile energy with much growth potential surrounding an artistic collaboration, a romantic suitor, or even a pregnancy. But how this energy unfolds will not run smoothly; there will be challenges. You will have to maintain some level of awareness of what and who it is that you value, along with what and who is worthy of your investment. If your priorities are out of whack, or you are too focused on an ideal, then efforts toward ingenuity and recreational pursuits will be thwarted. The same holds true at work – there may be some back and forth on the career front that complicates you living a more authentic life. Avoid making any major career moves in May. Look to June for an important turning point.

After a tense period that will test your faith and lead you to learn the value of patience, the summer months will feel energized and buzzed, bringing more pep to your step around your birthday! Eclipses in August and September affect you on the relationship front, a trend that will come more prominently into effect next year. Whether for business or for pleasure; this could represent a make or break moment. But what you experience will work in your favor, as you are set to receive much in the way of material wealth and prosperity now through March of 2017! Until then, be on the look out in October for a big shift that stems around writing projects, education, and speaking engagements. This entire year has your name on it, Leo. Own it.

Leo in 2015

Despite a few emotional low points last year courtesy of Saturn in Scorpio, you’d have to admit that 2014 has seen much in the way of personal growth too, and you are better for it. This continues into 2015, while denser energy related to home, family, and personal foundations begins to finally dissipate. You’ve been patiently waiting for lighter days dear Leo, and I’m happy to report that they will arrive sooner than you think.

Now that you’ve emptied out all the baggage and inner turmoil that have needed your immediate attention, you can get on with doing what you love – standing out to shine! This will require you to be who you were meant to be, no longer hesitant to show your unique talents or express your inner truth. I realize you might think, “Oh THAT’S easy,” but alas, it ain’t all roses. This will require getting over fears and doubts. Even romance, children, or creative projects will take on a more serious tone, serving as obstacles that are a part of your journey towards authentic living.

The beginning of the year sees you spending a great deal of time with significant others. If single, you may be in the throes of a new love affair, while coupled Lions may be contemplating what happens next in a relationship. Hold off on major decisions surrounding a commitment from mid-January to mid-February, as potential mates may be on the fence. Don’t be surprised, too, if any ghosts from relationships past arrive on the scene for final closure. March would be a better time to confirm your relationship status, and a Solar Eclipse on the 20th could seal the deal. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you will merge with another for good. You could equally decide to commit to your own needs in order to attract someone who will honor you for who you are and what you have to offer. This could also play out from a business or financial standpoint.

March will probably be the most active month of 2015, where your desire to explore beyond your everyday comes up against those responsibilities that fill your everyday. Go slowly, as change is on the horizon. First, career will be highlighted in April, while connections made in May and June could thrust you into the life of your dreams (try to be patient, though, if things don’t immediately go as planned). The summer months will be quite auspicious too, as Jupiter links up with Venus in your sign. You will be oozing charm, and your popularity will rise as you leave an unforgettable impression on others (this could be in front of an audience or with that special someone). Try to avoid any “costume makeovers” in August, however. Wait until October to change your look for the crowd, or for the one you love, or for yourself.

September through the end of the year brings an important shift. Money matters will be positive, and a healthy sense of self will ensure that your esteem broadens too. A new lifestyle and personal philosophy will be the norm, while wisdom expands. 2015 marks a year of profound external growth for you. The only thing that could get in the way of it all is you!

Happy New Year, Leo!

Leo in 2014

By now you understand what I meant in your 2013 horoscope, when I said that career gains and popularity wouldn’t mean much if you neglected your soulful self. This is an important caveat to your year ahead as well, one that will require discipline and focus if you expect to reap the rewards that are set to come your way by the time your birthday rolls around. I can’tstress enough how important it will be for you to do the inner work, Leo; said rewards will not only enter your life by mid-summer, but they will benefit you through 2015. You’ll need to be prepared.

As the year begins, you’ll be revising certain habits and routines that affect your daily life. How can you be more productive and still maintain a general balance of health and well being? What new regimens can be incorporated; which ones need to be altered or eradicated? Are you managing your responsibilities properly, or do you have too much on your plate? The purpose of this exercise is to simplify certain ongoing chores, as your lifestyle needs to be revamped in a way that works for you, not against you. Of course, there will be those obligations that you cannot ignore. But there are better ways to be more efficient, and finding the solution will entail time and dedication (so don’t expect to have everything ironed out quickly). Once March hits, you’ll see a big change in your overall way of living. Add the internal nourishment I alluded to above, and the results will reveal a total makeover.

This all coincides with activity from last June that saw you chipping away at your core being in an attempt to expose its true colors. You’ve had to become your own authority in the emotional arena, training your ego to get out of the way of your soul, while strengthening your faith in all things spiritual. This has led to an almost insatiable need to identify and live by the divine within. You might have come up against past conditioning and old patterns that thwarted your progress, but your personal resolve has been empowered. Inspiration will continue to come in all forms, so whether you notice growth in your inner space, home base or with your personal foundations; you are destined to expand. This combined with the proper dose of reality, is what will propel you into the future.

The first half of 2014 may feel like your evolution has slowed to a halt. But it would behoove you to exercise patience as the process unfolds, and to let it do so organically while you keep at it. Connections with others along with engagement in your local community may offer some reprieve from any monotonous vibes (though try not to overdo it with social commitments!). But don't let these distractions be the reason why you lose sight of your most cherished goals and desires. Create time for solitude and reflection when needed, in order to ensure that your path stays in alignment with what the Universe intends. The start of the year will seem relatively quiet and uneventful. But the inner stirrings will soon break open, signaling the beginning of one of the most dynamic years of your life!

Happy New Year, Leo!
