Libra in 2023

1/1/2023

A gradual build-up of energy begins right at the start of the year as the planet Mars stations direct in the sign of Gemini on January 13, where it has been retrograde since October 2022.

All the planets in our solar system do what’s called, “retrograde,” with Mercury being the planet that retrogrades most frequently throughout the calendar year. A retrograde planet gives the optical illusion of orbiting the almighty Sun backwards, which can be symbolized as a nudge from the Universe to pause and reroute where necessary, based on where the planet is affecting us in our natal charts.

Now, Mars in Astrology connects us to how we initiate our deepest passions. But while retrograde, assertive efforts feel blocked. Such blocks and thwarted motivation can be frustrating for us down below. So, as the Warrior planet gets back to its regular pace and orbit, you can anticipate that the affairs of life will amplify, a momentum that continues through the spring and summer seasons.

Aspirational goals, travel, academic pursuits, changing philosophies and worldviews, as well as vocational growth will see forward movement after a period of slowdowns. This is especially true as it relates to family and domestic changes; Mercury will also station direct in the sign of Capricorn on January 19, where its been retrograde since December 2022 bringing hiccups on the home front.

In fact, property matters, family milestones, and emotional healing are highlighted throughout the months of January and February. If relocating to a new country, moving into a dorm on a university campus, or supporting loved ones abroad, the direct stations of Mercury and Mars may very well be connected.

This will, no doubt, inspire authentic living and recreational endeavors in new settings, Libra. Interestingly, by the time we enter the spring months, fertile energy connected to child’s play, creative endeavors, and even romance will undergo a major shift as two momentous cosmic events develop above: Saturn will ingress (enter) the sign of Pisces on March 8, and Pluto will ingress the sign of Aquarius on March 24.

Both these planetary shifts are set to bring important lessons to humanity below, especially in the way of social unrest, spiritual growth, and revolutionary coups. Consider this your “curtain call,” Libra. You are being thrust out onto a stage that begs the need for you to be seen for all that makes you special, unique, and deserving of love. If you’ve been clinging to comfort, uncharted territories await. If you’ve been on the fence about a romantic attraction with someone who has different beliefs, you may decide to take a leap of faith.

What follows will inspire lifestyle changes, too. If you are moving abroad or publishing that manuscript, you day-to-day may come with more weight and responsibilities. This can also impact your overall health. But, the more you indulge new curiosities, the more you will be able to reclaim and rediscover your own inner child. Stay committed to the task.

Spring will be the time to direct your energy in assertive ways. You will feel quite driven and determined as Mars continues to move in forward motion inspiring you to indulge curiosities and explore foreign terrain (literally and figuratively!). Opportunities during this first quarter or 2023 may beg the need for you to get clear on your life’s direction. This will be amplified on April 20 when a solar eclipse peaks, encouraging you to open up to new partnerships and connections with others.

However, Mercury will station retrograde again the day after the eclipse on April 21, bringing challenges around trust and intimacy with another. This is especially true if considering a new romantic commitment or a business partnership that comes with some level of risk and vulnerability. It will feel like you’re taking two steps forward and two steps back as you consider your options. But these things will resolve when the Messenger planet stations direct on May 15, and most likely in your favor.

The lunar eclipse peaks on May 5, meanwhile, wrapping up financial matters, whether selling property, moving past feelings of low self-worth, or finalizing money negotiations that lead to new partnership dealings.

Of course, with Mercury retrograde, there will still be delays. But as Jupiter shifts into the sign of Taurus on May 17, you may be feeling inspired to let your guard down and bet on yourself, Libra. It’s as if you’re clearing space for more intimate moments, especially if you’ve been reluctant to share all of yourself with others – this is why the Universe wants you to be fully seen.

A surge of energy continues as we reach the summer solstice in the meantime. This year is fast and furious! Professional advancement, networking, and even a few mini vacations feature.

That said, the close of July sees Venus – your ruling planet in Astrology – stationing retrograde on the 23rd, bringing an assessment of certain networks and affiliations. Entry to new groups, friendships that may be more than platonic, as well as where you fit in and belong, are just a few examples of how Venus – the planet that connects us to love, beauty, money, and personal aesthetics – will be of impact while retrograde.

This gets a little dicey as Mercury stations retrograde once more just a month later on August 24. At this point of the year, you will have entered into a rather deep period of reflection that could bring up questions and uncertainty around your associations.

Whether waiting for a probationary period to end in a company setting or ciphering through different social groups that might connect you with people of like minds and shared causes, delays courtesy of Venus and Mercury retrograde are likely.

Such matters will resolve in September when Venus stations direct on the 4th and Mercury stations direct on the 16th. A period of reflection that sees you clearer on where you best align and can join with others will conclude. What may feel like a suspenseful holding pattern finally lifts, and just in time for your birthday season!

October sees two more eclipses, meanwhile. A solar eclipse in your sign on the 14th brings a new personal new chapter (happy birthday to you!), and the lunar eclipse on the 28th wraps up investment dealings. FYI, these eclipses are connected to the spring pair of eclipses.

You may be unmooring yourself from entanglements that inhibit personal growth and development, or finally experiencing psychological breakthroughs in a therapy setting that leads to healing and self-improvement.

Remember, much of 2023 sees you focused on ways to trust again, Libra. If you’ve been burned in the past financially, in a business tie, or marital tie, the Universe wants you to forgive, starting with self-forgiveness, so that you can commit to the things and people that serve your best interests. New partnerships, sexual ties, and even financial investments could prove lucrative and rewarding.

As we close out the year, the pace of life will pick up! Money matters and short trips feature, especially if splurging on a holiday vacation or signing up for an online correspondence course that brings new knowledge. Actually, November through December sees a surge of energy building around increased communication and mental pursuits (writing, research, etc.).

That said, Mercury retrogrades one last time on December 13, bringing transportation glitches and misunderstandings. If visiting family for the holidays, travel delays could disrupt your plans. If sitting for an important exam, test dates may need to be postponed. Same is true if sending holiday cards that are all returned!

Not to worry, Libra – these matters will resolve in the new year. Aside from Mercury’s backward spin, your year ends on a rather hopeful note!

Libra in 2022

Home, family, and domestic tranquility will be focuses at the start of 2022, especially if you are caring for a loved one, navigating domestic change, decorating, renovating, or relocating. In fact, there may be several things to consider “at home,” from how best to move through tense exchanges with a relative, to the type of tile you want to lay on your kitchen floor.

Ultimately, Libra, this is an exercise on values. What about your home makes you feel comfortable and secure? How can you put up firm boundaries with a difficult family member? How can you best nurture your emotional home?

If you’ve been disconnected and ungrounded, the beginning of 2022 will remind you to get back to your roots. But with both Venus and Mercury retrograde throughout all of January, delays and evaluations may prolong domestic matters.

What’s more, as Jupiter gains traction in the sign of Pisces during the first half of the new year, busy days will fill your plate demanding that you nourish your foundations to keep up with the pace of life. Cosmic turning points early in 2022 also center what/who you value, from your relationships to your property and possessions.

As you can see, the new year begins on a rather dense note. You’re doing a deep dive and a lot of unpacking around what/who makes you feel safe and secure. February brings clarity and the real start to the new year will begin around the end of that month. So, Libra, be patient until then.

By spring, life feels full! Relationships are highlighted as the significant others in your life – relative, close friend, romantic partner, spouse, etc. – become a bit more demanding of your time, further contributing to busy days. This will be activity that amplifies mid-year when Jupiter enters the sign of Aries, your relationship sign. By then, you will be in a better headspace to balance ‘self’ with ‘other,’ which will be important as new commitments and investments expand, be the relational or financial.

This all coincides with eclipses mid-spring. A solar event on April 30th brings a new start around certain mergers and contract agreements, while the lunar event on May 16th brings conclusion to your own personal resources.

You may be selling property to invest in real estate with a partner or finalizing a salary negotiation that results in a pay raise. FYI, Mercury will station retrograde again in between these two eclipses bringing delays and setbacks that may involve a grant for a major project, for example, or money spent on travel plans. Themes will still be centered on what/who makes you feel safe and valued. Developments should resolve as we enter the month of June.

In fact, by June, wanderlust kicks in! As energy from the eclipses and Mercury retrograde settle, you may grow more curious and even a bit restless entering the summer season. Travel is highlighted as broader aims and aspirational goals inspire, which will be the case for the remainder of the year.

This could involve a relationship, too, Libra. You may be journeying across country with a love interest or connecting with potential mates from a different culture and background. What’s more, pursuits of what brings you meaning and purpose may very well translate to the work that you do – your vocational path. Career matters will be highlighted during the summer, along with networking and social engagements. You’ll be meeting people from different walks of life who support ongoing expansion.

By the close of summer, you may find yourself in need of rest after a busy year to-date, in preparation for your next solar return. This period may find you in deep solitude, contemplating how you wish to spend your next trip around the Sun.

Partnerships feature, as well as your career and lifestyle overall. But as Mercury stations retrograde again through most of your birthday month, there will be much to consider – this would not be a good time to act.

Thankfully, October brings a surge of energy that will lead to clarity as you begin to assert individual plans and independent projects. You’ll be feeling confident and assured, which will be important as we close out the year; the last quarter of 2022 may be a bit rocky.

Another eclipse season will trigger themes that center personal finances and resources shared. A solar event on October 25th brings a new start when it comes to money, possessions, and self-esteem. The lunar event on November 8th brings closure around a joint venture. You may be dissolving a financial contract or ending a lease. Both are examples of how the eclipses will feed each other.

In between these lunations brings a Mars retrograde phase, something that only happens once every two years. Of all the planets, Mars can be the hardest to navigate when retrograde. Its energy connects us to our force of will, so when it does a backward spin around the almighty Sun, our energy feels blocked.

For you, dear Libra, you can expect stalls and delays centering those aspirations that began to inspire you back in June. If you were planning a major end-of-year trip abroad, COVID-19 travel restrictions may interrupt your plans. If you applied for a special license or certification program set to begin in the winter and meant to bring career growth, classroom projects and activities may come with several moving parts and require a lot of attention.

The experience of Mars retrograde could feel somewhat “manic.” You may be juggling many balls in the air, constantly having to redirect your energy. This will bring anxiety, so you’ll have to be careful not to put too much on your plate. Ultimately, you’re becoming a “master adaptor,” and flexibility will be required of you until Mars stations direct in January 2023 – a rather lengthy retrograde.

No matter how this energy unfolds, we will all be impacted in some way, shape, or form. Your mind will be active, and you can expect increased communications and interactions as a result. A learning curve is also likely as you are pushed outside of your comfort zone in foreign territory, literally and/or figuratively speaking!

That said, remember your roots, dear Libra. Come back to your home base if life feels unwieldy during the last quarter of 2022. The cosmic energy afoot may be rather unpredictable, but you will find comfort and stability at home, with your family and loved ones, in the comfort of your own heart space. Remember what grounds you and go there. Doing so will ensure that the year ends on a fine note.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, LIBRA!

Libra in 2021

Life came at you from all angles in 2020, Libra. First career, then family, then relationships; you were caught in the middle of all the main cosmic events that played out last year. No doubt, you’ve come out of the whirlwind stronger with firmer ground beneath you. What’s more, you’ve learned how to advocate for your needs and care for others without neglecting yourself!

Now that the storm has passed, how can you incorporate more joy into your life? The previous 12 months were so serious; the next 12months feel lighter and less stressful. I’m sure this will come as a welcomed shift for you, dear Scales. I know how important it is to feel a sense of peace, balance and harmony throughout your day-to-day. But something is still missing. New themes in effect will encourage you find whatever that is, and interestingly, the path leads to you.

You are being invited to chill, Libra. This looks like centering fun, child’s play, romance, happiness, creative aims and everything else that makes you special and unique. You are being called to receive a bit more love and affection, simultaneously removing barriers that block you from the doting and tenderness you deserve. If you don’t know how to get started, look to the start of the year. January and February bring a lot of energy around pleasure and recreation.

February, however, may come with setbacks in these areas courtesy of Mercury retrograde. A romantic partner may be on the fence or a creative project may need to be put on hold. Delays will lead you to doubt yourself. But try not to get discouraged – all will move forward by the time we reach the spring season.

In fact, spring sees you merging with important others whether for financial gains or emotional gains. Hiccups surrounding a love affair may lead to increased intimacy. A creative collaboration could bring a collaborative partnership. You’ll be able to follow your dreams without pause!

A theme in effect all year sees you unmooring yourself from commitments and obligations so that you might free up resources to invest in the people and things of value to you. That will be the case during these short spring months leading up to the first eclipse season of 2021.

May 26th and June 10th bring a lunar and solar event, respectively, that will impact dreams in the making. Not only are you being encouraged to live a more authentic existence, but eclipses are calling you to step outside of your comfort zone. Whether launching a blog, publishing your first novel or starting a new academic program, the call to adventure will be heard as you embark upon new journeys that lead to soul growth.

That said, June may bring travel delays as well as academic setbacks. Your enrollment in a program, for example, may be deferred. Same is true if waiting for a license or certification for completion of a specialized training. Efforts to expand both literally and figuratively will bring frustration. But all will turn out in your favor by July.

The rest of summer looks relatively calm. Social engagements features, along with rest and retreat. As we ease into your birthday month, you will be feeling especially restored and re-energized. Vanity changes and cosmetic procedures that bring increased confidence are highlighted.

But FYI, all personal initiatives may be challenged courtesy of another Mercury retrograde cycle.
This could feel as if you are taking two steps forward and two steps back. There may be misunderstandings around independent pursuits while responsibilities to others dampen your plans. This won’t be good or bad, just frustrating. Look to the end of October for the green light to “go!”

November and December bring another eclipse season, meanwhile. A lunar and solar event occur on November 19th and December 4th, respectively, that bring activity surrounding a commitment or agreement. Something is confirmed at this time, Libra, whether renewing an employment contract or saying “yes” to a marriage proposal.

What transpires will lead to financial talks and discussions, short trips and time spent with family approaching the holiday season. You may be purchasing a home, visiting relatives or moving in with someone. FYI, home and family activity may come with a few adjustments, especially if you are purchasing property or merging in a domestic tie. You will feel more settled in the new year.

All this activity leads to busier days by 2022. You can expect more chores and responsibilities as a result, most likely extracurriculars that you will enjoy. In fact, fun and pleasure may be what keeps you busy, especially if planning for a baby. Your year ends on a rather “sweet” note.

Happy New Year, Libra!

Libra in 2020

Those areas of life that often take up the most of our time will be focuses for you throughout 2020, Libra. They include: Career, Home and Family, and Relationships. Notice that “Self” is not a part of this line-up, which means you must be extra diligent in finding a balance between “self,” and all of the other elements of life that consume your time.

The new year begins with changing dynamics at home and with work. These two areas of life have seen the most activity in recent years, and this continues over the next 12 months. A solar eclipse that peaked on December 26th, 2019 kicked things off, bringing a new start on the domestic front. The lunar eclipse that follows on January 10th will bring a culmination of activity on the career front.

An easy interpretation of this would be that you are leaving a job to focus on family planning. Another interpretation would be the launch of a “home-grown” entrepreneurial venture, like a real estate business. But there are deeper themes that have more to do with establishing yourself away from your family unit. A phase is ending that sees you with greater autonomy over professional ambitions, which will empower you to support a household or domestic partnership.

As all of this energy unfolds, life will get busy throughout the winter months. Your schedule and day-to-day will fill with more chores, tasks and responsibilities both at home and at work. There may be a few delays too; appointments get cancelled, projects are reassigned and there are miscommunications with colleagues and loved ones. Anything that disrupts your regular schedule and productivity is highlighted, which could impact your health. Be patient as daily affairs return to normal in the spring.

The spring months, meanwhile, see you feeling more energized as you turn your attention to significant others and commitments. What comes up during this time with important partners may be revisited during the fall months. Also, there is a theme in influence in effect all year that will encourage mergers with others – be they financial, emotional or business related. Be deliberate when it comes to the sharing of resources in partnerships.

May through June begins the first round of choppy cosmic weather of 2020. An assessment is in effect with regards to higher aims and broader pursuits. You may be defending a thesis or a dissertation, or, applying for a vocational certification that could further you on the professional front. If so, expect thorough reviews and considerations.

Eclipses during the summer will further compound this energy; we’ve got three over the course of just one month instead of the standard two. Lunar eclipses on June 5th and July 5th bring completions involving communications and domestic matters. A very potent summer solstice solar eclipse on June 21st, meanwhile, brings a new start on the career front.

If you are changing residences this year for a professional opportunity, you may find that your candidacy is strongly considered as an evaluation remains in effect during eclipse season. You may be finalizing an important book deal too that sees you leaving the comfort of home behind to begin a tour that will allow you to promote your latest work. Same is true if you are traveling overseas; citizenship may be rewarded in the form of a work sponsorship that will determine where you are able to live and call home.

As events unfold, you will come up against another round of delays and setbacks, this time on the career front. It’s as if important agreements need to be negotiated before a new start can begin. You will notice activity shift forward in your favor by mid-July into August, and the rest of the summer sees momentum building as you settle into new opportunities.

The calm will last temporarily, however, before we enter another cosmic rough patch that will bring obstacles on the relationship front. You may find that as you settle into new work and/or home environments that adjustments with close loved ones are necessary.

Obstacles that develop during the fall months will feel like battles of will between you and significant others. Tension is likely. Frustrations will be felt, and this will be another important time to find that balance between “self” and “other,” especially as you attempt to assert your own agenda while simultaneously being available to the important people in your life.

October takes this energy up a notch, as personal plans are thwarted due to challenges involving significant others. If you are caring for a sick relative, this may delay your own initiatives. If you are in the middle of a divorce or custody battle, this may leave you feeling less confident and defeated. This may very well be the most challenging month of 2020. Your only options in navigating this energy are to lean back and wait for obstacles to lift, or, find a working solution in the interim.

By the time we reach the month of November, challenges will begin to lift. Steady momentum will gain traction by the end of the year, alleviating strain with important others. You will also be able to push forth on personal endeavors that are more “self-focused,” as tensions lift around your relationships.

While energy calms, a new eclipse season begins. A lunar eclipse on November 30th brings a completion of activity around higher aims and opportunities that have contributed to academic pursuits, professional advancement and travel excursions. Whether you are completing a certification program or wrapping up a tour of Africa, what ends here is connected to what underwent a thorough review back in May and June.

The solar eclipse on December 14th ushers in a new start in the classroom of life. A certification completion could be what leads you to begin teaching others. Cultural experiences abroad may influence an important writing or research project at home. These are examples of how the eclipses will feed each other.

The end of 2020 sees business as usual during the holiday season, with two new themes in effect that bring quite a bit of focus to creative aims, romance and children. These themes feature in 2021 as you begin to experience more child’s play and authentic living, a nice reprieve after a turbulent 2020!

Happy New Year, Libra!

Libra in 2019

Home, family, emotional wellness and domestic bliss will be important anchors as you navigate life in 2019. Your roots have continuously been uprooted for years, and this year may encourage you to identify new environments where you can generate feelings of home and create your own personal sanctuary. Exploring new communities and fresh interactions could lead you to where you want to be. Only recently have you taken on a concerted effort to plant seeds and build sturdier foundations.

The year begins with you committing more to your home life. A solar eclipse on January 5th brings a new domestic beginning, while the lunar eclipse on January 21st sees you leaving behind certain networks and affiliations that have kept you away from home. Parenting yourself is now a top priority, Libra. Social engagements, group events and organizational activities can only be pursued after you have attended to domestic responsibilities.

The pressure to nurture yourself and loved ones be felt throughout the spring and beyond. Boundaries may be necessary if you begin to experience emotional strain; this will be especially true in March as increased responsibilities begin to fill your plate. Important others may be heavily reliant on you to do their chores and attend their needs. You are only one person, Libra. If you are experiencing stress and interruptions to your own schedule, remember those boundaries. Daily affairs will become more manageable as we reach the month of April.

You may also find the spring months to be rather liberating. If you are reliant upon financial assistance and other contracts that offer material resources, you may try to remove yourself from such agreements as you identify ways to invest in your own set of priorities. “Freedom to invest” is what I call this theme, which started back in the spring of 2018. Financial dependence and agreements with others will soon be a thing of the past as you deliberately strategize your way out of investments that no longer serve you.

Summer comes with two more eclipses: A solar eclipse on July 2nd bringing a fresh start on the career front, and a lunar eclipse on July 16th bring a shift on the home and family front. This could be your final break, Libra. A new job that offers you financial autonomy, along with a healthier work/life balance so that you can attend to domestic activities.

With that said, there may be a few delays around a new job, as well as networking. If you are planning a professional conference, or using your connections to find employment, activities may briefly stall mid-July through August. Stay patient and try not to lose hope. Matters will move forward as we enter the fall season.

September brings confirmation on the career front, and you may find yourself in a new setting interfacing with others. Eventually, busy days at the office will taper off as you shift your focus to personal aims and restoration. Energy for outer aims will resume by November, just in time for you to pursue material wealth and possessions. There may be delays with money and finances this month, especially if you are making an important purchase or negotiating a raise or promotion.

December will bring final agreements on the money front, as you shift your focus back to home and family as we enter the holiday season. A solar eclipse on December 26th after Christmas coinciding with the new transit of Jupiter through Capricorn will be auspicious. This may very well be the first time you actually feel at home in your space and with loved ones – a pleasant way to end the year.

Happy New Year, Libra!

Instability in relationships with significant others is a theme that soon ends! For years, you have had to exercise flexibility in partnership, which may have brought frustrations, sudden endings, and sudden new beginnings. Yours is a sign that values the idea of “us” and “we,” but this cannot come at the expense of your own personal well-being. Whether single or partnered, you are very clear where you now stand, and this will lead to greater stability in new commitments going forward.

The year begins with you focused on home and family matters. In fact, a new long-term influence in effect will challenge you to nurture familial ties, and build sturdier foundations. Discipline will be required; the more effort put forth, the greater the reward. This involves moving past insecurities regarding domestic matters, and being your own authority when it comes to your emotional well-being.

Meanwhile, eclipses in February bring a shift, as you leave behind a group or company to focus on your own creative ventures (whether that be a child, or an entrepreneurial launch!). A new start sees you living and being your most authentic self, and significant others feature as well. In fact, relationship activity picks up during the spring, and there may be some back and forth between you and a partner. Decisions will not be final until around the end of April, so bide your time. You may be committing in a union (business or personal) that has been rocky for quite some time, or severing a tie entirely. No matter the experience, you will be standing on sturdier ground when all is said and done.

The summer of 2018 presents some of our most choppy cosmic weather of the year. Three eclipses, instead of the standard two, influence significant turning points for each of us. For you, this involves a romance, creative venture, or activity with children. A build-up of energy begins around summer solstice; you will be asserting yourself in a love affair or artistic venture, and coming up against severe obstacles. A hard “stop/no,” courtesy of the lunar eclipse in July, will force you to cease all activities, and find another way around obstacles.

Career matters are highlighted too. A new professional beginning that comes courtesy of the July solar eclipse could be the result of you completing a creative project that is ready to be launched. A second solar eclipse in August, meanwhile, sees you aligning yourself in a new company or organization. The summer months will be funky months, indeed, with even more minor delays involving new group affiliations in August. All delays will begin to move forward by September.

The fall brings calmer cosmic weather as energy picks up around money and resources. This is a theme in effect all year that could increase your earnings, and influence greater abundance. A reassessment is in order with property, possessions, and compensation – this is especially true if you are purchasing a big ticket-item. Some back and forth is possible starting October through November; try to avoid making any major financial decisions.

The end of 2018 brings increased engagements with others – siblings, friends, neighbors, etc. Misunderstandings are possible too, but all will be resolved before we enter the new year. You may even find yourself in a new educational setting that expands mental stimulation. Broader knowledge and learning is highlighted – this new theme will be in effect throughout all of 2019.

Happy New Year, Libra!

Libra in 2017

If you look back on 2016, you would have to admit that things got noticeably better at the halfway mark (even if there were still a few challenges). You have been deep in contemplation over life goals and direction, and just now are you beginning to feel more confident in the decisions for your future. This will continue throughout most of 2017, a year that could be your luckiest in over a decade! Of course, this means that you must take advantage of new opportunities, like going back to school, writing a book, or starting your own business. Such endeavors will require hard work and discipline, which you will have in spades. But you can’t just sit and wait for the Universe to provide.

The year begins with delays on the home and family front. Whether you are looking to purchase, or knee deep in renovations, a few more setbacks are likely throughout the month of January. This might lead you to feel emotionally uneasy, Libra. But you would be wise to simply remain patient for domestic matters to resolve – forward progress begins in February.

The month of February, meanwhile, offers a new chapter beginning. The first set of eclipses in 2017 may bring the completion of activity in an important group or organization. You may be leaving an affiliation, or saying goodbye to a long-standing friendship, so that you can begin to refocus your energy on important priorities – namely your health (or the health of a loved one) and a new career start. The second set of eclipses in August offer a new start in an important network or association that could be of benefit if you are seeking support for a personal project, or simply in search of a community that reflects who you are on a core level. This will be a time to finish up a creative endeavor, and identify the people who can help promote your product.

Relationship activity continues throughout most of the year, in the meantime. In fact, you may find that much of your frustrations at home come courtesy of significant others. You have been dealing with instability on the relationship front – both business and personal – for a while now. Disagreements between you and a spouse or a roommate are likely, as tensions with others will peak in March and April. You may question the viability of a certain association, and ghosts of relationships’ past may return. Increased discussions, misunderstandings, and re-evaluations of important unions are likely. But by May or June, activity in partnerships will be set on solid ground. Keep the balance of your infamous scales until then, and don’t neglect your own personal goals as you try to find a compromise with others.

By the end of 2017, two new transits will shift certain elements of your life. Starting in October through 2018, a greater sense of personal abundance will rise, as you come in to additional money and resources that increase financial stability. A second transit in December brings added responsibilities on the home and family front (what happens in early 2017 could be a precursor to what’s in store). Whether you are paying additional expenses with property, or caring for a sick relative, you will be tasked with building healthier emotional foundations that keep you grounded and centered, as you exert more time and energy toward domestic matters.

2017 starts off strong, dear Libra. You’ve got this!

Libra in 2016

1/3/2016

Much of 2016 will see similar themes playing out with regards to your domestic life, family, and important relationships. But this year, you will feel more capable of navigating changes and transitions that surface as a result. I have been saying for a while now that Libras are learning how to stand on their own two feet, no longer overly accommodating others, or being too amenable. Significant partners and relatives are teaching you what it means to be self-focused; whether these lessons have been painful or liberating, they have been necessary, nonetheless.

The year begins on a quiet note, as the planet Jupiter above inspires contemplation and inner reflection. You may seek to spend time with family, or wherever you feel a sense of emotional comfort. February and October of 2016 would be good months to relocate if you are considering a change in your environment (January brings obstacles and delays with home matters). In doing so, you will gradually begin to feel more settled as we move into the month of March, and the end of the year. Eclipses this spring will help you to release personal insecurities that get in the way of you planning ahead for goals and other ambitions. As you address uncertainty surrounding where you should be putting forth effort, a new focus will return.

April and May, meanwhile, bring increased activity in an important relationship. Many Libras will be tying the knot, dividing assets, or bringing a commitment to the next level; this is also true for a business partnership. However, this period through June will be the most stressful period of 2016, and the month of May will be a doozy with plenty of holdups and delays in important mergers, contractual agreements, and financial matters. When it comes to the sharing of resources, it would be best to wait until June before making any big decisions – you may have no choice but to wait. You might also experience delays through education and learning, and the funding necessary to pursue a course of study. If you are awaiting word on final grades, enrolling in a new program, or seeking academic tenure and employment, don’t be surprised if your efforts are thwarted. You will have to be careful not to assert your own agenda, and at the same, remain cognizant of fears and doubts that might surface. Whatever blocks you come up against will serve as cues to lean back. July will bring forward momentum.

You will cruise through the summer months, while eclipses in August and September bring a culmination of activity with regards to how you manage your schedule. Your aim will be to refocus your energy on all that gives you meaning in life, and keeps you in a positive state of mind. With that said; October will usher in a new personal cycle for you, Libra, which sees you experiencing much in the way of growth, development, and abundance! This is a theme that will play out through next year; it would behoove you to get your affairs in order now, starting with the workings of your inner world, and the subconscious muck that gets in the way of you living life to the fullest. Quiet stillness in 2016 will be what leads to greater awareness in 2017.

Happy New Year, Libra!

Libra in 2015

1/1/2015

If you’ve been experiencing financial strain or chronic low self-esteem dear Libra, I’m happy to report that 2015 sees the pressure lift! Issues surrounding your values and worth have forced you to take yourself more seriously. Belief in creative talents, along with the demand for proper compensation, are now essential when it comes to all you have to offer in the way of skills and even matters of the heart. Jupiter in Leo has led you to connect with only those groups and allies who support your dreams for the future; a new love interest may even blossom here as a result (January looks promising, though you should hold off on romantic commitments this summer). Now that you know not to settle for less than what you deserve, it is safe to expect only the best.

A healthier view of self isn’t such a bad thing, but it’s not the end of your journey. If you plan to take yourself more seriously, you need to prove it – actions must follow your words. For those of you looking to go back to school or expand your expertise, now would be a good time to invest. In fact, education is highlighted into 2017, so if you wish to pursue a degree or trade, there’s plenty of energy available to assist. Keep in mind that a full on commitment will be required, which means certain things will have to take a back seat. This goes for important one-on-one connections, as well as any emotional drama playing out on the family front. Added freedom to do you in 2015 will become a personal requirement. After a year that has left you no choice but to set your own priorities, you now have the gumption to be more assertive, especially if others seem to have other plans for you. Conflict is possible, but it doesn’t have to be. As you become more emotionally mature with how you handle your relationships, you will succeed at finding the balance between you and them (and balance is one thing Libra the Scales does well).

Of course, it can’t all be roses. As you move through the 12 months ahead there are bound to be obstacles and delays. March brings tension along with the need for diplomacy on your part, while April and September have you second guessing yourself. Some level of aggravation will be felt if you sense that others are holding you back. But instead of throwing a tantrum, your aim should be to compromise. This will be an important theme throughout the year. As you continue to push forth on personal goals, you are going to have to juggle a few tasks and responsibilities, which isn’t easy for someone who wants to give equal time. Just know that you may not have that option with so much on your plate, and so I'd advise you, again, to find the balance. A Solar Eclipse in March could help you to become better organized, while increased faith in your endeavors (especially this May and June) will expand your motivation.

By summer, all the hype you’ve experienced to date will begin to calm. This period marks the beginning of a personal retreat, in which you go deep within to reflect on all that has come to pass. Use this time wisely to properly assess what happens next. The summer of 2016 begins a brand new cycle that will benefit you tremendously; there is much to do in the interim.

Happy New Year, Libra!

Libra in 2014

1/1/2014

2014 will be the year to promote yourpersonal agenda, Libra. This is your year to be who you want to be, whether others like it or not. Of course, you will still have to consider your responsibilities to loved ones, i.e., family or significant partners. But no longer will you be willing to cooperate if it means catering to them at the expense of your own needs. You are prepared to assert your will having developed a thicker skin over the years, while current lessons on self worth continue to help raise your self esteem. As the diplomat of the Zodiac, you won’t have to worry about being too harsh or offensive. But you willhave to guard against acquiescing too easily without putting up a good fight. Yes, I said fight (I know you hate that word!); obstacles may bring conflicts, especially with your kin. Nevertheless, yours is the symbol of the Scales, so if anyone can find a proper balance, it’s you.

The year begins with questions surrounding house and home. You may be renovating your kitchen, or changing residences completely. Tension with family could be an issue, too. Now more than ever, both your inner and physical space must serve as your sanctuary. If domestic bliss is hard to come by, you’ll be inclined to find a more secure base. For many Libras, the focus may be on your emotional well being, as you come to realize your need for a little more tender loving care. Close partnerships fall under this influence as well, and some of you may decide to finally share your true feelings with another. If single, new partners continue to enter your realm, although you may be reminiscing about the past. Nostalgic sentiments suggest the need to come to a deeper understanding of your personal desires.

Decisions in general may be hard to finalize during the first few months. You’re in the process of creating the life you want, so where you decide to settle will be important, as well as with whom. Be sure to weigh your options before taking decisive action. April and October are game-changing months where you could cement a bond and merge for good. What occurs may very well manifest in a business setting too, as your career hits an all time high (expect forward movement after March). Overall, you’re in for a dynamic year of transition, which necessitates the need to be vigilant in pushing your plans to fruition without second guessing your strengths and abilities. Family will be on hand to assist (that’s if you’re still on speaking terms!), and their support will help you immensely as you solidify your future and begin to build a life of security.

The main message of 2014 is to know your worth while doing what’s best for you. Whatever transpires over the coming months will be fateful, leaving you to take the reigns as the true master of your destiny. Once July hits, you’ll be linking up with like-minded folks who will bring a sense of belonging that you’ve been missing. There will be moments this year when you feel overwhelmed by all the possibilities along with the decisions to be made. But only you are capable of orchestrating eventful change, and you've got more than enough cosmic support!

Happy New Year, Libra!
