“I, Tracey Lynnelle Rogers, do solemnly swear, to embrace all that I am; to be all that I am, unapologetically; to live fully in the present moment; to embody a great love; to exude a great love; to awaken great love in those I meet, and in all that I do. May it be so.”
This was the pledge I wrote to myself at the end of my women’s empowerment program. I cannot convey to you the magic felt after having spent five consecutive weeks in a space filled with Black women, uplifting, empowering, nurturing, healing, and loving all up on each other. I am renewed, recommitted to my work in this world.
Part of that work involves helping to facilitate the de-conditioning process, a process currently underway, and long overdue, that involves us unlearning the ways of the world that keep us un-evolved. Whether that means unlearning our views on race, unlearning our views on sex, unlearning our views on democracy or unlearning our views on religion; unlearn, we must.
No longer can we live life with a limited view – at least, I personally choose not to. And, if I can help you in anyway un-limit and un-restrict yourself from a life filled with limitations and restrictions, it would be an honor. I cannot thrive unless you thrive, dear friend. We cannot even begin to envision a brighter future if our dreams are not given free reign.
