Over the past two weeks, I’ve been working on a project in Tunisia that allowed me to meet young adults from all over the world who traveled to share their stories of journeys made as global citizens. I learned a lot about their lives and cultures, and I learned a lot about myself in the process. When I was invited to promote the project on Tunisian radio (RTCI), I became starkly aware for the umpteenth time that I am so damn blessed. Having pulled this project off with much success, I feel like I can do anything now. That is a wonderful feeling, but it leaves much to consider as I return to the blessed life that I already have back home in the U.S.

I was giving an Astrology reading to a Leo Sun the other day, who shared with me her fear of becoming the shining star she was meant to be, because she didn’t want to seem vain or narcissistic while promoting her unique gifts and talents (vanity and narcissism represent the shadow side of Leo). Fast-forward to later that day; I was talking to a Scorpio Sun, who freely acknowledged the importance of having a healthy sense of entitlement (especially for young girls), and that it was OK to feel disappointment when your expectations fall short of extraordinary. I could relate to both sentiments. On the one hand we are taught to reach for the stars – the sky is the limit! On the other hand we must be mindful of greed, and not ask for too much. It can be tricky to find a middle ground that is humble, and too often we default to settling for less than abundance. “The only unique contribution you can offer the world is to be who you actually are and no one else.” ~Ashly Lorenzana
There has been a consistent theme in recent dreams I’ve had that speaks to what it is I am currently experiencing in my waking life, and that is to stay centered. No matter how busy I am, or the responsibilities I have toward others, or the various directions in which I am currently being pulled; my first priority is my well being, while keeping my eyes fixed on the bigger picture that is the life I envision. No one and nothing can create that vision on my behalf. I defer to the guidance of my very own Soul on the matter, thank you very much. I am my own personal authority. |
