A Saturn/Pluto 2020 Preview

10/13/2019

Astrology sessions last week reminded me that the Saturn/Pluto conjunction was approaching, exact on January 12, 2020. I shuffled my deck to see what messages these planets would reveal to us earthlings below; the cards I pulled were Five of Crystals (Negativity) and Sage of Wands (Seer).

Planets conjunct are in the same sign at the same degree (or within a 5-8-degree orb). They bring a concentration of energy; the planets and sign involved determine the kind of energy, while where they are conjunct in the sky determines how they affect our lives (our astrological birth chart).

By January of 2020, Saturn (Challenges, Authority, Discipline) will conjunct Pluto (Transformation, Death, Rebirth) in the sign of Capricorn at 22 degrees. Capricorn, meanwhile, is the Mountain Goat. It represents those ambitions achieved through structure, strategy and focus.

What this means for the world generally speaking, is a rebirth that comes through hard work and laboring. But first, whatever inhibits or rejects death of the old, must be sifted through, weeded out and restructured, if not discarded entirely.

Take the slow decay of our planet due to climate change for instance. The Earth will make it through this storm; Mother Nature is indestructible, always giving birth to Herself. But things – living and/or material – poor habits and other practices that corrupt our planet must first die.

On a large scale and in our own personal lives, this will feel “negative.” We may find ourselves afraid, succumbing to a defeatist mentality as it seems all hope is lost.

It would be fair to have these reactions because something is dying. Whether it’s our democracy, outdated relationships, or harmful psychological narratives, laboring through it all will be difficult.

However, there is a “seer” inside each of us. We instinctively know what needs to be torn down and restructured, if not discarded entirely, so that we can be born anew and evolved. We know the work that will be required, as well as what's at stake if we don't evolve now.

This is heavy stuff, folks. We haven’t seen Astrology like this in a long time, and indeed, we are living in interesting times to say the least.

To prepare for what’s in store as you get ready for your own rebirth, it might be worth scheduling a Mini Astrological Reading for information and details that are specific to you.

FYI, the Full Moon over the weekend offered a taste of where we may need to release control in time for the upcoming conjunction. Check your Tarotscopes here. Surrender. Breathe.

Check your horoscopes to see what’s in store this week ahead, and don’t forget to read for your Ascendant sign too.
