Change Your Narrative

4/3/2016

Lead with the belief that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have in any given situation.

A few weeks ago, I was told that I do a good job at “keeping myself safe” and “preparing to be let down.” It was a truthful observation that strongly resonated; partly because of my own lived experiences, but also because this is the only way that I know how to continue to love, be grateful, and show compassion in the face of let down and disappointment. At first, I was not sure how to respond to what was said to me. I have been told on more than one occasion that I can be cold, detached, and aloof. A more intentional practice of vulnerability is something that I have only just begun in recent years, and I know deep down that my default to “keep safe,” is a narrative that needs to change. As long as I prepare for let down, that will be my experience.
What is a narrative in your life that needs to change?
Have you noticed that the stories we tell ourselves are reinforced by circumstance? This is called Karma; those cycles, life scripts, and experiences repeated, are indicative of a narrative that we continue to feed. If you are always struggling financially, for example, maybe your narrative is that you have to struggle in order to survive in the material world. If you continue to find yourself in unhealthy relationships, maybe your narrative is that of being unworthy of love. If you can’t seem to pursue your dream career, maybe your narrative stems around a fear of failure, or even success. On the other hand, if you have faith in all that is good, your blessings runneth over. We all have stories like “I have to keep safe in order to avoid being let down” that perpetuate an unwanted reality. What can you do to change your narrative?

A total overhaul of what you have been doing all along is, in my opinion, the surest and most radical way of giving up that outworn story about yourself. It might seem like a worthwhile exercise and challenge; but alas, it entails a thorough examination of the root of your fears, along with attention to how certain patterns cause harm to you and to others. What's more, there would need to be a strong desire and willingness to change. Are you willing? Are you ready to see yourself as one who thrives instead of one who survives? Are you ready to start believing that you are worthy of love? Are you ready to indulge your passions and curiosities - that which gives you a sense of purpose and meaning? Only you know the answers. It is ultimately your choice. This means, then, that “circumstance” can no longer be a part of your story.

The Aries New Moon this Thursday, April 7th, is ripe with initiative. As the first sign of the Zodiac, Aries exudes a raw and passionate energy for life, and demands that we live courageously. The warrior spirit of the Ram can only live life to the fullest without inhibitions, and if we dare to live, we must dare to amend, edit, or completely change the narratives that hold us back. I choose to change my narrative. Will you? Check your horoscopes for the week ahead, and don’t forget to read for your Ascendant sign.

Greetings sister. I was referred by a friend of yours named Jai SheHa on Facebook... Wondering if you could help...

Alright. So, I'm highly interested in knowing my personal astrological connection to the cosmos and how I may be affected by their energies and vibrations. Light, positioning, gravitational pull, conception and birth powers, and so on. Is there anyone out there that has real, authoritive, and reputable resources they can share that will give me a good, solid understanding of my personal astrological readings? And not just something based upon Greco-Roman plagiarized folklore. But to give any experts out there a start, I was born at Washington Hospital Center, 216 Michigan Ave NE, Washington, DC 20017, USA: longitude and latitude
38° 55' N / 77° 0' W. I was born on December 4th, 1977. I was born in the Year Of The Snake. I am a so called Sagittarius. I am fascinated with the moon and nature. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated...

It certainly seems to be true that whatever you focus and believe to be true becomes a reality. So if you think every one has an agenda, you ll probably find one. No one walks around with a permanent grin on their face unless they re on medication, but I guess the benefit of the doubt cant hurt.
