Love is a beautiful thing to witness.
Like most Sundays, I was sitting at a café that I had recently discovered in Silver Spring, MD, blogging, people watching, writing horoscopes, and preparing for the week ahead. The Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Leo had just passed, and yet, I could still feel the remnants of this powerful cosmic event. The Moon was set to enter Libra and conjunct a retrograde Jupiter, so of course, my mind was on relationships (Libra is the partnership sign in Astrology). Two couples caught my attention right away. They were eye gazing, holding hands, and kissing affectionately. Ten years ago, I would have thought to myself, “Please, go get a room.” On this day, I thought to myself, “How beautiful. That is exactly what I desire.”

Lunar Eclipses in Astrology tend to “eclipse” someone or something from our lives. In the sign of Leo, this involves a creative project or a romance; something shifts or culminates here to make room for a new beginning that will come courtesy of the Solar Eclipse. The next Solar Eclipse is due to peak in the sign of Pisces on Monday, February 27th. This gives us a two-week window to address, decide, end, discuss, contemplate, change, get real about, be honest about, accept, or recommit to whatever has bubbled to the surface for completion. This is the window that will determine our fate starting now until the next set of eclipses in August.
Leo rules the heart. This is a sign that loves love, and wears its heart on its sleeve for the world to see and admire. Pisces, meanwhile, rules our spirit. This is a sign that loves unconditionally, a sign that loves the Soul of who you are. These two eclipses offer an opportunity to transcend how we love one another. Whether in a romantic relationship, with our relatives, in a friendship, or even how we practice self-love; we are being called to do it differently this time, with more bravado and compassion – with more vulnerability and more authenticity.
We are being called to love with every fiber of our being, the best way we know how.
This is radical and fitting as the Sun completes its transit of Aquarius at the end of the week, and Mercury is just getting started. When the Sun ingresses Pisces on the 18th before the New Moon/Solar Eclipse, this will be a theme that prevails – love will prevail. Valentine’s day is around the corner, and I ask, instead of what gifts to give, how can you commit to a love that prevails? How can you move from a heart that is bold, to a heart that boldly stays open? We’ve got the next two weeks to ponder this, dear friends. May it be so.
