Monday’s last quarter Moon in the sign of Aquarius, followed by the planet Mars’ entry into the sign of Aquarius this Wednesday, is quite timely for the election that falls in between. Tuesday is when we as a society come together to exercise our right to vote. Under this Aquarian influence, it does not matter if you vote Democrat or Republican. Under this Aquarian influence, what matters is that your vote inspires revolutionary change for the greater good – whether that means casting a ballot for our nation’s first woman president, or casting a ballot for our nation’s first openly bigoted and misogynistic business man, who does not pay his taxes. You decide.
Unfortunately, however, the American Dream is often denied to so many people in this country. Economic disparity, racial discrimination, and the refusal of basic rights to things such as clean water are just a few ways in which the American Dream becomes more like a privilege. When we are unable to rely on elected government officials to create conditions that allow for us to prosper, the American Dream is lost. But, that does not mean we still can’t have a dream for our country.
Last I checked we were all human beings with inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. When we fail to exercise these inalienable rights, well, what is the point of living? We are the authority of our own lives, and when we step up in revolution, all lives are changed. Aquarius does not rebel for rebellion's sake. Aquarius recognizes the good in the collective, and rallies us to act in ways that benefit the collective through our own behavior, and the creation of laws that justly govern our society.
What are some things you wish to see change in your own life, and the larger society? When you can answer this question for yourself, go online and do some research to find which presidential candidate truly speaks the language of your heart, your vision, your dream. Look at their records. Compare their experiences. Get a sense for their integrity. It is your right, remember, to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; and thus, it is your responsibility to identify the presidential nominee who has your rights and interests at heart. Once you know who the best candidate will be, go vote.
