This lunation coincided with the 4th of July, and in the sign of Capricorn (the last Lunar Eclipse in the sign of the Mountain Goat until 2037), what reaches the completion that comes with any full moon lunar eclipse involves the state of our country.
The planet Pluto can also be found transiting the sign of Capricorn where it was when the United States of America was born. Pluto represents evolution in Astrology, connected to the Life/Death/Life cycle of rebirth. It’s natal placement in the U.S. birth chart means that our country will forever transform, enduring peak periods of evolution that impact its legacy and foundations, kind of like what we are experiencing in this historic year of change.
A Pluto Return occurs when the planet Pluto returns to the sign it was in when something/someone is born. However, Pluto takes 248 years to make just one orbit around the Sun; unless you live that long, you will never experience a Pluto Return.
But a country can definitely experience a Pluto Return.
The last time Pluto was in the sign of Capricorn at the degree it is now, America celebrated its first Independence Day with the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Nope, this is not a coincidence. When I say (as I said during this Facebook live event) that we will not be returning to the “old normal,” I mean it. The Lunar Eclipse over the weekend served as the final nail in the coffin of how things used to be.
Meanwhile, Mars currently transiting the sign of Aries – the sign of fresh initiation – will soon but heads with planets in Capricorn later on this year. This is set to bring battles of will between old power structures undergoing dissolution and transformation (Pluto in Capricorn) and a new world order pushing to be born (Mars in Aries).
As these planets energize tension below, our only choice will be to surrender what keeps us unevolved, and trust me, Pluto means to burn down whatever is unevolved, and yet still, we will rise from those ashes reborn.
2020 isn’t over yet, folks. There’s much more coming down the pike as we reach the fall months and head into winter. So pay attention to how the pace of life events picks up courtesy of Mars in Aries (as we’re seeing with a climbing number of new COVID-19 cases for example) and start being proactive with creating a life that fits with this new normal.
And while you’re at it, dream a better and bigger dream for the future of this nation. The new normal can be one that benefits us all – all races, ethnicities, religions, genders, etc. I pray that by next July 4th, there will be something truly worth celebrating, like freedom for all, not just a few.
