- Focus solely on the things that you can control. What can you control? How much news you watch, your schedule and routines, the flow of your breath, time spent with loved ones at home, creative projects that have been waiting for your return, and most important, you can control how you “respond” to circumstances that are beyond your control;
- Remember those practices that keep you centered and grounded? Do them. Cook. Go outdoors (while maintaining the appropriate distance from others), exercise at home (especially if you can’t get to the gym), connect virtually, read, journal, pray, do a ritual, do handstands, dance furiously, do all of the above. You may have to amend your practices, and, they are still available to you as needed;
- Give voice to how you feel and validate the feelings of others. Let’s face it, this all sucks and it’s scary too. You have every right to feel what you feel so go ahead and vent. And, for every vent session you play, I invite you to follow up with a gratitude session to remember all that is going your way. What’s going your way? Well for starters, if you’re reading this, that means you’re alive. Turns out you’ve got life in you!
