The Sun, The Moon, and The Truth

"Above all, do not lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lies comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect, he ceases to love." ~Fyodor Dostoyevsky

We have officially entered my favorite time of year – Scorpio season – when night grows long, leaves change hues, and we prepare for the great submerge. Now is when we begin to take stock of our lives before entering a deep winter’s slumber. But to renew and replenish, we must first dig; we must investigate what lies beneath the surface of who we are, and rest up for the purge. As we prune, removing the many masks that we wear, we get to the roots of our souls. What roots have been badly damaged, and what roots can bring forth new growth, is for us to discern. And no matter our discernment, this is a process that requires both courage and truth.
My first love is a Scorpio – my Mom – and I am always the one to tell people that I am fiercely loved. It is true; my mother would lay down her life for her kids. But she will also call us out, tell us about ourselves, and suss out the lies that we concoct with a quick sting. Everything Scorpio does is intense, and it is their ability to perceive and act on instinct that I admire the most. If they love you, they will aid in your excavation. If they sense a fraud in you, you will be exposed. And so explains my love of Scorpio season. It is the one time of year when the monsters, ghouls, and demons that contribute to our existence, make their presence known.

What makes the Sun’s ingress of Scorpio so noteworthy this time around, is that the luminous revealer of all things joins the planets Mercury and Jupiter, both transiting Scorpio as well. Skeletons will, indeed, be unearthed, whether they are Halloween props, or from your closet of secrets. Keep in mind that this will be a yearlong trend – Jupiter will remain in the sign of Scorpio through November 2018. As Buddha said: “Three things cannot be long hidden: the Sun, the Moon, and the Truth.” What is hidden is bound to come to light, and to deny, repress, manipulate, or control what comes to light will only help to manifest a death of all deaths.

Jupiter is the great benefic in Astrology that inspires meaning and purpose in our lives. Over these next 12 months, the truth will set us free, but only if we bring it to power. That is the gift of Jupiter; this planet bestows grace through expansion, changed perspectives, and broadened ways of living and being. The bigger the lies we tell, the more will be at stake, but the greater the transformation. Whether you harbor psychological deficiencies, secrets, deep fears, or all the above, it is time to face them. Scorpio’s most evolved archetype is the Phoenix rising from the ashes - the toxic remnants of a life of lies that have been staked out and burned. Where in your life do you need a match?

Check your horoscopes to see what’s in store this week ahead, and don’t forget to read for your Ascendant sign, too.

Hi Tracey, Will I regret facing these secrets and deep fears? That is my issue that I know that I am telling my self and living a secret life. I know that nothing "good" is coming from lie and that the reality is what I am covering in hopes that the lie that I am being told will come to life.

Hi Nichole,

Facing secrets and fears could never be something regretted; it is necessary for growth and transformation (especially under Jupiter's influence). It may not be easy and there may be consequences. But ultimately, the truth is what will set you free - free of shame, guilt, and the harboring of secrets. Thanks so much for your comment, and for being so brave.

Good luck,
Tracey
