A Solar Eclipse peaks in the sign of Sagittarius on Monday, December 14th at 11:16 a.m. ET. This solar event will conjunct the planet Mercury, also in Sagittarius, as well as the south node of the Moon, which represents where we’ve all been in our collective Karmic journey.
Solar eclipses bring new beginnings, and this one comes with so many possibilities. The energy afoot precedes the “Great Conjunction” set to occur on Winter Solstice next week, when the planets Jupiter and Saturn kiss each other in the sky in the sign of Aquarius (more to come on that later).
The eclipse will welcome a fresh new 20-year cycle set to begin for us who inhabit Mother Earth. I have been saying throughout this entire year that 2020 ends on a hopeful note, and Sagittarius is literally the sign of hope, as well as positivity, optimism and silver linings.
With so much density hanging around these past 12 months courtesy of planets in Capricorn, we can all expect to feel a little lighter going into the new year. The eclipse should help shift unhealthy mindsets as it pings Mercury. Everything from our individual perspectives and philosophies, to our self-talk and how we engage the world around us, will stretch and broaden encouraging new insights and awareness.
Quite frankly, we have 2020 to thank for inspiring this kind of shift. We’ve all been deep diving in a sea of existential crises that have forced us to question everything. Expectations along with the things we thought we knew about life and the world in which we live have gone out the window. Trust me when I say that this year did not happen for nothing.
As the eclipse connects to the south node in the sky, another deep dive to reflect on who we are, and who we wish to become, will be of significance. A great “unlearn” is still in effect as many begin to realize that it is possible to live differently and be our most authentic selves in ways bigger than what social conditioning has mandated for far too long.
