We are in between eclipses, folks! The two-week period where life can change on an instant. All one must do is pay attention to events that are unfolding – the obvious and the not so obvious – to get a sense of what’s in store. Eclipses always come in pairs; the solar eclipse brings new chapter beginnings and the lunar eclipse brings completions. They feed one another. Something in life must shift or end (lunar eclipse) so we can take advantage of an important fresh start (solar eclipse).

2018 has been a year of trials and tribulations on a global scale, a national scale, and in our own personal lives. We have all endured challenges that felt more challenging than usual, difficulties that felt more difficult than usual, and frustrations that felt more frustrating than usual. However, even with the density of this year, we have become more resilient, we have cultivated a stronger will to overcome, and we have put forth the work that was necessary. Congrats, you made it!
Notable shifts continue to develop in the cosmos. The Nodes are now on the Cancer/Capricorn axis, focusing our destined collective path toward more nurturing, and less obstructing. Jupiter has left the sign of Scorpio for Sagittarius, inspiring new motivations, and less burdening.
Venus stations direct in the signs of Libra and Scorpio this week, while Mercury stations retrograde in the truth-seeking sign of Sagittarius. Finally, Mars exits the sign of Aquarius where it has been for the last seven months, and will soon ingress Pisces. Ring the alarm - Jupiter leaves Scorpio for Sagittarius this week!
Jupiter transits last for about a year, and we have been feeling its movement through the sign of the Scorpion since last October. As I said in this blog post, Jupiter’s exit comes with the parting gift of rebirth. We have been laboring through the year folks, purging, shedding, releasing, and pruning, all for the sake of being born anew. Venus dips back in to the sign of Libra this week, as we approach All Hallows Eve on Wednesday, October 31. Relationship matters will continue to be under review, as we each work a bit harder to identify our true relationship needs and values. Financial affairs are also up for consideration, as we assess what gives us a sense of security.
The reason why we are all being poked, prodded, tested and triggered, is because we are all giving birth to something new – a new career, a new relationship, a new life, a new you. We are laboring through, friends. Where there is pain, there will be light.

The Libra New Moon peaks around midnight tonight on the East Coast, as Venus (Libra's ruler in Astrology) embarks on a six week retrograde journey. Libra rules "the Other" in Astrology. Known as The Scales, Libra seeks balance and justice between "Us" and "Them" - "I" and "We." But Venus is currently in the sign of Scorpio where fairness and equality can quickly morph into control and manipulation. “What hurts you, blesses you. Darkness is your candle.” ~Rumi
“Jupiter in Scorpio will drudge up the muck that resides beneath the surface of who we are, and in a big way. Skeletons in closets will be revealed. Lies will be unearthed. Wounds will be triggered. This is a necessary process that Scorpio does well. What follows will be a grand release that helps us to heal and evolve.” I wrote this almost a year ago. The week we just had is a testament to the above truth. I was working in the field of international education (and loving every minute of it) before I became a professional astrologer and a certified life coach. This was never something I planned; if you had told me seven years ago that I would be doing astrology and life coaching for a living, I would have thought you were crazy. I was on a completely different career path and expected to continue working in my field, maybe even relocating overseas to Morocco, or Jordan. Apparently, that was not where I was meant to be.
Events that transpired last week have inspired a rather dense reflection on life. I am more aware than ever before of the things that are out of my control. I am also more starkly aware that life changes in an instant. I am sure you, dear reader, can relate. So many people end up in places they never thought they’d be, while so many others attempt to manipulate life so that it works in their favor.
